this why people attack and accuse you of trolling, I mean if you didn't like the movie that's cool. If you laid out your complaints in a well thought out thread that's great, but when you insult people that did like it by basically calling them stupid, that is also rather telling.

there are much bigger problems with the prequels. I'm sorry, those were just a mess, the story was convoluted and mostly made no sense. You can say this was unoriginal, copied Star Wars, but at least it was pretty straight forward plot.
It sounds like some of you just have a problem with JJ Abrams. I didn't like it because it was Abrams and/ or Disney, I like it because i thought it was good, not because of them. it had flaws but they didn't bother me like it did you and BB apparently. I mean yeah a newer, bigger DS was kind of lame. Finn was just kind of there to me though i do agree he was kind of a "we need a black guy character" and if he does wind up a love interest for Rey it does smack of PC, but overall i enjoyed it, the positives outweigh the flaws.

But seriously, me, Fr33 and SFP's quiz bowl team would dominate.
I understand why my thread was deleted, but I started it to keep all of my negative comments away from the main thread. I mean, look at all of the downvotes in the OP of this thread. That's some serious Hunger Games shite right there, man.

The prequels are lambasted because they are bad movies that aren't fun to watch, so their flaws are even more magnified. TFA is a good movie, so it's flaws can be overlooked because the rest of the movie is enjoyable. It's pretty much as simple as that.

i don't look at the uv/dv thing but i think the title of this thread is just a strawman. if the op doesn't like it that's cool but the idea that if i didn't like the prequels i should not like this is nonsense.
there is a fine line sometimes between legit criticism and gratuitous bashing. SFP's comments i've seen are the former, while the op has tended toward the later imo.

And the OT has plenty of flaws as well. ROTJ has many more flaws than TFA.
The Godfather has flaws. Citizen Kane has flaws. Now, I'm not comparing TFA to these two but the idea that a single portion of a plot being stretched or not completely fleshed out means a movie sucks then an unreasonable standard is created.
TFA is pretty great for what it attempts to be. And in the universe of Star Wars films, it's near the top - especially if you analyze it without the nostalgia factor added in for the OT.
