My point is that you can’t just say “I have this one film, your argument is invalid.”

There are films where an actor phones it in, is miscast, has shite material to work with, etc.

A good judge of how bad they are should be if they were the worst thing in an otherwise fine film.

George Clooney is the same guy in every movie.

Agree about Cage, too.

Going off of that logic, wouldn't a singular outstanding performance be a good judge of how great an actor can be?

Still better than your logic of “this one film counters all your arguments.”

Nic Cage won awards for Leaving Las Vegas. Does that counter the vast array of shitty roles he’s done in the 20 years since then?

He’s one of those actors where he will bring ham and cheese to a role, whether it needs it or not. Doesn’t help that he sucks at finances so he has taken a lot of bad films that paid him enough.

Farrell always seems like he's setting up a scene for something hilarious, but never seems to pull it off, the only thing I've ever chuckled over was the "angry dragon" scene in Starsky and Hutch

You're coming with the hot takes in this thread. I understand Will Ferrell can be a little much sometimes, but I think he's been pretty funny in a lot more than that.

Anchorman, Zoolander, Old School, Wedding Crashers, The Other Guys. He was pretty good in all those if you ask me.

I recently saw Jeffrey Dean Morgan in “Rampage”.

Sadly, he’s just Negan in a suit in this movie, and I’m irritated at the thought that he’ll be Negan in every role after this.
