Lesie Bibb explains it as Mike wanting you to see we have to be able to talk to each other, without your preconceived assumptions. It's not black and white, and just because someone voted for trump, doesn't make them a bad person. And the reactions are exactly the reactions you would see from an east coast white liberal female.
Yeah I took the scene as depicting that while the left acts like they are morally superior, they are th eones that harbor the majority of the hatred and cause the most division. The second they hear she MAY have voted for Trump and isn't a card carrying Liberal they get triggered. MEanwhile she says that the people in Texas are good people with nice families.
Thats the disconnect with the left. They view anyone who voted for Trump as hate filled racists when the reality is that most Trump voters are normal middle class family people while the "moral" leftists themselves are the prejudiced ones filled with hate.
That isn't to say that no one on the right is the same way as those women but the majority of Trump voters are like Leslie Bib's character.
I do agree though that a hardcore liberal will watch that scene and feel like the 2 liberal cougars are justified in their stance and that the Texan cougar is wrong and brainwashed.

Greg's house, which you will see soon is nearby (in the story). Easy for him to drop down and eat there as fine dining options are scattered all over the island.
I thought that they already mentioned this when we met Chloe. I thought she said that for the last year her and her boyfriend lived in a big house near the resort and would just come down to eat and drink sometimes, but made it clear that they weren't staying at the resort.

Chloe did say that, but we haven't seen his house yet

she did say that ..... i was just putting out a possible reason Greg would still go to one of the many White Lotus dining options

I don't really think that was a win for either side. To me the scene came off as saying 100% she should not have voted for Trump and 100% the other two were complete bitches for making her feel bad for voting for him. Both sides could come away either mad, happy, or divided on how to feel about the scene. Which is pretty great writing imo. Same thing for the two twats in S1, they look awful and righteous at the same time.
I don't necessarily disagree, as its a fair assumption that Mike White is probably anti-Trump, but its still an assumption, and what we see on the actual screen is the 2 "liberal elites" being totally unfair, judgmental, and nasty to one of their "best friends" because she doesn't think like them.

Ativan and scotch is already a ticket to blackout city… and since he’s not used to taking Ativan normally and decided to rip them like tictacs .. Colonel Tavington is on the express lane to it

Way too obvious for Gaitok to be the shooter now I guess.
Of course we get more male nudity.
The fact that these people keep taking pills with literally no liquid is bothering the shite out of me.
Chelsea seems like a really sweet girl. And she seems to actually care about Rick.
Gary’s girlfriend was smoking in that pink bathing suit. Damn.
I assume Valentin’s friends are the ones who committed the robbery or are somehow tied to it.
I need something to progress with the Isaacs character. It’s four episodes now of him being anxious and depressed and three of him popping pills and alcohol to numb it all. And that’s literally it. I guess we find out it’s officially embezzlement and fraud but that’s basically what we assumed anyway.
Also need the Gaitok friend zone thing to advance as well. It’s brutal watching this over and over for four episodes.
So Tim took the gun. Good. Now maybe we can move things forward. Let’s get weird.
Holy shite, Greg’s house. Baller.
Still digging this season a lot. Hope things pick up soon.

Never stick your hand down your pants just because you see the brief nudity warning on an HBO series!

I cackled when it happened knowing how folks would respond here.
I think the resort owner’s husband is actually Rick’s Dad and his Dad wasn’t actually murdered:
- You hear all the time how someone is told their parent who left/bailed is dead just to make it easier to deal with.
- He keeps mentioning he didn’t know his Dad and his Mom told him who it was on her death bed. My guess is she told him thinking he’d seek him out but not wanting Rick to know she lied to him all his life.
Rick is going to probably frick up and kill his own Dad. Makes me a little sad because I want Rick to find some peace or something.
Also laughed at the three women getting chased with the water guns.
Gaitok, you poor bastard. That’s all I’ve got for him.
Gary is going to possibly go after Hawaii Massage Lady since she knows who he really is.
Starting to think Saxon may the one who dies this season. Or his brother. Not sure why, just a vibe. The fiancé thinks Dad finds a way to make Saxon the scapegoat for the financial shite.
The melt the Mom is going to have is going to be glorious.

But it was unexpected, shocking, and kind of funny.

She really nailed her character. That mid-50s southern woman with money who numbs herself with pills while working so hard to publicly portray her family as perfect. She’s constantly tired and always better than everyone else. It’s spot on.

What a letdown of a season. Going to sit the rest of this one out, may binge it on a long flight or something but it just lacks basic entertainment.
Loved first 2 seasons fwiw, this just feels like it's missing the mark.

To each their own
Sure the first couple of episodes were a tad slow but this one.. it’s all starting to make sense and plots are coming together. I can’t wait to see what happens next

Parker Posey reminded me in tonight’s episode of Will Ferrell’s SNL skit of Harry Caray.
HEY! If the moon was made of spare ribs, would ya eat it? I would!
