Gotta agree with that, just read the book a few months ago and it was a real slog. There was a whole chapter that was nothing but obscure sailing lingo that took me completely out of it. Almost quit reading because of that.

The movie was great but I loved the book more. I think it was Clancy going into detail about submarine warfare. Then again, i had just read Red Storm Rising (which is even better than The Hunt for Red October) so i was ready for more technical navy warfare.

I came on here to say this. The book was not memorable...the movie is a freaking classic.

The movie absolutely sucked if you read the book first

One of the worst movie adaptations I have ever seen

The Wizard of Oz
Gone With the Wind
Ben Hur
Frankenstien
Jaws
The Godfather

Most of the Fleming Bond novels were not as good as the movie that came later.

someone said it before but American Psycho is better than the book.

The Shining is not as good as the book.

Just watched Fight Club last night for the first time in years. Whenever I watch a movie I always go on IMDB right after and read the trivia. This was the second entry:

Author Chuck Palahniuk has stated that he found the film to be an improvement on his novel.

I AM LEGEND

I can't rationally discuss this movie.

The title doesn't even make sense with the ending they chose to film. How am "I" legend if "I" am dead???????

House of the dragon is better than fire and blood.

I get what George rr Martin was trying to do with it being a history book and in a way it’s different and interesting world building but from a story standpoint HOtD is better

Disagree... Jaws is a great movie, but the book has a much better ending, in which Hooper dies in a fantastic way.

Silence Of The Lambs.
As much as I liked the book, the movie is fantastic. Anthony Hopkins was so damn good as Dr. Lector.
