hilariously..... it's not modern day wokism being inserted. which has been my complaint about the other actual woke stuff that is being inserted when there was enough in the source material (but it wasn't woke, nor beating you over the head.)
i'm glad they're out of Tar Valon. They cleaned up a lot of stuff from the first couple of episodes and reunited, but the political stuff was getting on my nerves. GoT knew how to mix up the political with action in the same episode and Rafe is struggling there.

I agree. Although I will say that there seemed to be a lot of Moraine "scheming" with no purpose when the end result was her meeting everyone outside of the city. It's not like the kids from the twin rivers were being held prisoner in the tower and needed to escape. This feels like something that might have played out better in the book than it did here.

This show is still pretty mediocre, IMHO. Last two episodes were very weak.
Definitely more Netflix Shadow and Bone quality than GOT/LOTR quality.

She needed to leave in shame and have her absence be unquestioned.
She also needed all the attention on her so that she could get 3 possible male channelers and 2 strong female channelers out of the tower.
Last two were slow and political, but it set her up to make the last two episodes a bit more action without having to deal with politics and much world building.

But that's just it, Perrin was the only male in the tower. Matt and Rand were moving freely around the city. Unless they can detect anyone with a hint of magic, Perrin would be seen as a normal person they were healing because he helped save Egwene so I would assume he'd be free to go once he healed.
As for Egwene and Nynaeve, we've already seen Nynaeve come and go from the tower pretty freely. Getting all 5 of them out of the city just did not seem like a big deal. It may have been a big deal, that's why I said maybe it played better in the books, but what they gave us in the show I was expecting more obstacles to getting everyone out of the city and they just weren't there.

This was the episode where things actually "clicked" for me with this show, and I bought into the world and the characters for their own sake, not just out of nostalgia for the books.

They did a great job of setting that up. The way they played it gave the viewers the why for this happening.

They really dropped the ball here. Liandrin found out about Matt and Rand but Moiraine shut her the frick down. Hard. Perrin and Egwene were never shown as being in any sort of danger from White Tower intrigues. They really needed to up the ante on why Moiraine needed to get them not only out, but out in a manner which did not tie their leaving to hers.

i mean, they kinda allude to the fact that all reds hate men (but Liandrin having a man on the side is bad enough for her to be blackmailed.)
So the concept that Mat can channel, Perrin has glowy eyes, and Rand had the ability to knock down that door puts them all in danger from reds. If not in the eyes of the viewer, in the eyes of Moiraine at least.
I agree that some suspense in two fairly boring episodes would have helped. not knocking them. as a reader, i feel like they helped my wife (a non-reader) understand the politics a bit.
