A couple of guys from one show.

Peter Quinn

Max Piotrowski

Homeland is one show that I watched for the supporting characters, not Carrie. She pissed me off a lot.

He's the glue that holds the show together.

Any respectable list should start with Lucy Ricardo.

How in the ever living frick has Hawkeye Pierce not been mentioned?

I'll add that a few of you don't know the difference between television characters and movie actors.

Michael Scott

The developement of this character is incredible. Season 3-4 Michael is perfect. They start him off as this unlikeable idiot. Then they start throwing in little moments that humanize him. Finally they develop him into this lovable guy that can still come up with cringeworthy moments, which hit so much harder with what they made him. Michael sitting on the train car singing his sorrows while he realizes he’s stuck in Bankruptcy only to follow a few episodes later with Dinner Party.

I know Steve hitting the jackpot with 40 Year Old Virgin was a big part of the show getting the traction to develop it, but you can’t take away his ability to really be flexible. Shame he never won an Emmy.
