final scene of Excalibur is the greatest
Absolute stunning cinematic achievement. Would have loved to have seen what Borman would have done with LOTR if the technology was where it was only 10-12 yrs later.

Lux Aeterna from Requiem for a Dream is up there.

Some that haven’t been mentioned:
Edward Scissorhands is Elfman’s best score IMO.
The “What if” ending of La La Land
Ivy’s violin theme in The Village
The main theme from The Lion King when Simba ascends Pride Rock

No one has referenced LOTR “Ride of the Rohirrim” or “Bridge of Kazad Dun”
Lord of the Rings is probably the most epic soundtrack of all time (probably with the exception of Lawrence of Arabia), but not sure if it’s the most emotionally moving.

Braveheart would be my number one choice.
A close second would be Dances With Wolves.

There are many, and some have already been named.
I’ll add Binary Sunset from Star Wars. Perfectly captures Luke’s longing for a different life.
Also, the theme from The Mission.

Not the best, but it's up there, particularly considering the movie's first half has almost no score.

I listen to this one when I run trails. I swear it makes me run twice as fast.

There was actually an original score made for 2001, but it wasn't used (thank God)
Most of the music is Ligeti, with now-iconic uses of Richard Strauss and J. Strauss

I connected to the scores of Blade Runner and Patton so well, it will be difficult for anything else to nudge into the top 2.
I do like Mohicans for the category.
