for miami vice fans, i'd argue mr robot is the intellectual heir because i havent seen a tv show since vice to set the tone with music like mr robot

One of my favorites sports movies is Vision Quest. The soundtrack is excellent.
This is the intro to the movie, and sets up the plot and main character perfectly.

Two I haven't seen listed are the fight scene in Good WIll Hunting to Baker Street by Gerry Rafferty, and not really an entire scene but the perfect spot to play the line "this is the worst trip I've ever been on" from Sloop John B in Forest Gump when Forest and Bubba have just landed in Vietnam and Lt Dan is giving them the rundown

I love the "Sound of Silence" in the Old School scene where Will Ferrell shoots himself with a tranquilizer dart and falls into the pool. Something about the juxtaposition of such a melancholy song with a hilarious situation that always gets me.
