Well, they already fricked up any chance of her having a legitimate character arc; otherwise I'd pick that.

Maybe have her lose her powers so she can reacquire them, and learn how to be a Jedi all over again? Let Luke, as a Force Ghost, actually be a mentor instead of a bitter old man?

The Disney trilogy already did so much with her character than any of the things that would make the character likeable would be nearly impossible to implement now. It'd be like trying to give Captain Marvel a legitimate character arc NOW - the ship has, sadly, sailed.

I don't mind strong female characters; I just want to see them grow into that the same way strong male characters do. If you want an action movie with a female character, then make THAT and then you can use a few lines of dialog to explain why they're competent. That, honestly, doesn't work when you're tying to work in a character into multiple movies and can harness abilities and powers it was shown takes training to harness.

No one asked why Arnold's character in Predator knew how to fight (and it wasn't the most critical part of the plot), but I'm sure people would sure as frick would want to know where he got his abilities if he started firing fireballs out of his arse.

He was a special ops guy. It's self explanatory.

I do think a rated R star wars film would do quite well. Disney needs to have variety.

Or Disney can come up with something original to screw up instead of screwing up other properties.

I meant it was a method that could be explained away with a couple of lines of dialog; not the same as him, say, having magical powers.

Bait and switch us like the Sequel Trilogy and give us a story about a storm trooper overcoming his childhood trauma to become a resistance fighter.

First scene: Rey wakes up and realizes it was all a dream. She goes on scavenging trinkets and we never see her again

I’m not interested in rebuilding the Jedi Order. I dont care to find out if the 3rd times the charm.

I am barely interested in Jedis even in universe. Solo and Mando are my 2 favorite characters to come out of all the movies.

This, a thousand times over. I am sick watching the superhero I can never be, with powers I can never have. Give me the people I COULD be, if my aim, draw, and piloting skills become good enough.

It's nice to see "just a brave guy" save the day, world, universe etc.

I don't even want to see that, unless someone uses a Force-dampening field on her and reduces her to mere mortal status again.

I take it back, what I want to see is her wake up from her dream and laugh at the silly idea she became a Jedi, met Han and Luke and were disappointed in them, and the Emperor came back.

What they should have done from Episode 8. Rey discovers her powers far more quickly than any jedi before her. She becomes too powerful, cant control the force. Loses her struggle with the dark side, has to make a decision to continue to live on as a super powered sith or save the galaxy by rediscovering the last bit of good within her and sacrificing herself.

So many possibilities.
