Not animated. Movie for 12 and under boy, that they need to see to complete their childhood and give them some life lessons to take into manhood.

Sandlot is one for me.

Mischief but Kelly Preston does get fully nude, so I don't know if you want him to see that or not. But the sex scene is very short and that's a very underrated movie. The dialogue is fairly raunchy but a good getting older movie to transition to manhood.

My favorite movies at 12 were Jaws, Space Balls, and Star Wars.

My favorite movies today are Rocky and Field of Dreams (both great movies for a 12 year old).

Enjoy the age. They grow up fast.

Serious answers:

12 Angry Men (1957) would teach him not to judge a book by it's cover, and a little about the jury system in the U.S.A.

Ben-Hur (1959)
has life lessons in ti, and is a great story.

WarGames (1983) is good for teaching him to be careful about going to strange sites on the interwebs.

Glory (1989) should teach him about real bravery.

To Kill a Mockingbird (1962) is good for making him think about how he treats others, and how he should protect siblings.

Midnight Run (1988)'s ending is a good one for learning how to treat a friend.

Wall Street (1987) might be good to teach him about cheating in general. It or some old Patriots games.

Braveheart (1995) teaches bravery and the importance of an education.

The Last of the Mohicans (1992) will teach him about the French and Indian War.

Just for fun answers:

Once Upon a Time in the West(1968) will instill a strong urge to seek vengeance against anyone who crosses Ole Pop.

Doctor Zhivago (1965) will teach him about doctor's getting to have a wife and a girlfriend.

Midnight Express (1978) might keep him from ever smuggling drugs.

Unforgiven(1992) might be good for teaching him to stick up for his friends. Also great for teaching how one bad decision might ruin your life.

Boyz n the Hood (1991) will teach him about how "A Black man ain't got no place in the Army"

Braveheart (1995) teaches how to rule when you become King.

As Good as It Gets (1997) will teach him how to think like a woman.

Glengarry Glen Ross (1992)
will teach him who gets coffee at work, and inspire him to be a doctor, engineer, or programmer, so he doesn't have to go into sales.

The Last of the Mohicans (1992)
will teach him how the British Army is no place for a White officer.

Sling Blade (1996) will teach him there's more to life than playing cards with Sheriff JD Shellnutt.

A League of Their Own (1992)
will teach him that it's O.K. to let your little sister score the winning run.

There Will Be Blood (2007)
will teach him how it's better to be an oil man than a preacher.

No Country for Old Men (2007) will teach him that, in most cases sharing is O.K., but not when it's sharing water with cartel drug runners. Also teach him it's OK to not give your wife straight answers.

Gladiator (2000) will teach him to "Win the crowd", to not trust his own son, and what kind of movie gets college kids ready for a bowl game..

If he's close to 12, The Outsiders hasn't been mentioned yet.

Pretty sure everyone is supposed to cry during Old Yeller before they hit 12.
