1986

Recently rewatched it.

It has all the 80s qualifiers ten-fold.

Script is predictable... Everyone is against the rogue cop in the department, he's a lone wolf that drives a bad arse non-cop car.

Dresses in casual street clothes, carries no badge but walks around town with a gun down his pants in plain sight pointing at his dick...and nobody says anything in cafes or Diners.

Carries ridiculous weapons for a cop...including grenades.

Lines are cheesy, puns aplenty. Music interludes, montage.

Driving around for no reason. Crazy car gunplay scenes.

Bad guys are insane and stupid doing bad stuff for no reason.

Hot chick model pursued by bad guys. Stallone has to whisk her away to protect her and that means hooking up in a seedy motel.

Its the most generic 80s movie ever...as if an Atari 2600 wrote the script.

And it's by Cannon.

Can't be the most 80s movie if its not by...
