maybe Inglorious Basterds falls into that category, but i'm not sure if it counts as a real WWII movie.
Quentin Tarantino's made up revenge porn does not count. A WWII movie should have some tie in to history. Tora,Tora,Tora and Midway are two of my favorites not mentioned yet.

I never see The Big Red One mentioned in these WW II threads. Haven’t watched in awhile, but recall it being a great story. Think it’s on Apple TV.

Top 10 in no particular order:
The Bridge on the River Kwai (1957)
Patton (1970)
Midway (1976)
The Great Escape (1963)
The Train (1965)
Von Ryan's Express (1965)
The Dirty Dozen (1967)
A Bridge Too Far (1977)
The Guns of Navarone (1961)
Tora! Tora! Tora! (1970)
Saw most of these in the theater when I was a kid.

The best I can't choose but a few I really liked (besides those already mentioned several times, SPR, etc.):
Objective Burma
Unknown Soldier
Come and See
Downfall
Generation War (German mini series 3 parts)

Is Enemy at the Gates a WWII movie? That's one of my favorite movies period

My personal favorite is probably Midway - the version made in 1976.
Great movie.

Lots of good ones there.
One of my personal faves is Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo. Good, basic WWII movie.

that's fair.
i will add now what i KNOW will be an unpopular opinion, and that's that one of the most rewatchable to me is actually Pearl Harbor. i know the plot is ludicrous, i know the history is extremely shaky (at best), but i just cant help myself. i like the over the top Michael Bay cinematography and unashamedly patriotic message, i like the non combat scenes with the different pilots, i even like Alec fricking Baldwin in that movie. plus it was peak Kate Beckinsale. it's a real guilty pleasure situation.
Battleship is as realistic.

Patton is the best in my book.
George C. Scott is fantastic as Patton, even mimicking his physical quirks. (When Patton smiled he kept his upper teeth covered as an example.)
Only his voice was off and most people have never heard George S. Patton's voice so it's not a big deal. Scott's voice works better for the movie anyway.
The score is epic.
*Yes, I have to ignore the American M48 tanks in place of Shermans and German Panzers.

Tora! Tora! Tora!
Land of Mine (it’s a foreign film, but it’s great)
I also really like the Dirty Dozen, but it not a traditional WW2 movie.
