Even though the Lannisters were the wealthiest they didn’t have one either since they lost their ancestral VS sword and couldn’t get anyone to sell theirs no matter how much gold they offered. However they did have that dagger. There’s an estimated 200 VS weapons in Westeros but the show hasn’t really mentioned this. So if the Tyrells do have one it’s likely not a big one like the other houses have.

There are a good number of people with Valyrian Steel at Winterfell.

In Ep 2 preview, Jorah has “Heartsbane” as he stands in front of the the wall at Winterfell. Apparently Samwell will give it to him in this coming episode

Think theyll have time to figure out VS probably infused dragon glass during forging?

I thought it would be a thing, doesnt seem like it will come to pass if the war is upon them and 4 episodes left after sunday.

Arya isn't too bad with a bow and arrow. It looks more like a spear to me but could very well be some type of small arrow that she'll use to either shoot the Night King while he's riding Viserion...or perhaps used to just kill Viserion. The other 2 dragons can't burn him since he's still technically a dragon and fire won't harm him. The only other way to take him out is either with Dragonglass or taking out the Night King himself. The dragons have shown they're not totally immune to getting stuck with an arrow/large spear if hit in the right spot...

Yeah. The eagle eyed folks at Watchers on the Wall and elsewhere spotted Jorah with Heartsbane right away in that preview.

Here is a list of all the known blades from the books:

I remember there was a theory about Meera having Dark Sister (from the 3ER) because it looked like she was holding something that looked like a wrapped up sword after they fled.

I was hoping we'd see Meera (and maybe even Howland) again, but the remaining time is so short, I guess not).

Withe regard to main characters using WW/Wight killing weapons, I think the slate for this battle is set:

Jon using Longclaw
Jorah using Heatsbane
Brianne using Oathkeeper
Jamie using Widow's Wail
Arya using the dagger
The Hound using the big dragonglass axe.

Jon & Danny will use the dragons

The Unsullied, Dothraki, northern soilders, wildlings and Vale army will all likely be equipped with dragonglass weapons and/or dragonglass enhancements to their weapons.

Fire/flaming projectiles will be used.

I think we’ll possibly see “Blackfyre” and “Dawn”.

Blackfyre may be with someone from the Golden Company since that’s where it was last said to be wielded by one of Daemon Targaryen’s bastards.

Even though Dawn isn’t Valyrian steel, I still would like to see it the most. That was one of Arthur Dayne’s swords forged from the metal of a meteor.

Is Dawn just stuck in a closet somewhere during the upcoming battles?

didn’t get why Gendry made a big arse axe head from the glass.

Because the Hound requested it.

Yeah it just seems like a waste since there a finite amount of glass and time to make weapons.

The hound with that axe will be worth waaaay more than the two knives he could have made for redshirt #1 and redshirt #2.

not made of Valyrian Steel, and no one from Starfall is worthy of becoming the Sword of the Morning

Speaking of the Tyrells, weren't they supposed to be the second wealthiest family behind the Lannister's? I'm surprised they didn't have a VS weapon before they were all taken out, or maybe I'm just not remembering it

Valyrian steel is hard to find let alone buy.

The Tywin spent decades trying to get some for his family and didn’t get any until they took ice and melted it down

I'm sure some larger lesser houses have some too. I mean Samwell had one, you would think larger houses would too.

Corbrays still have one and I assume they are there with Royce.

It looks like a spear fishing setup, which does not seem very practical in this case.

So a top 5 warrior in the 7 kingdoms isn’t worth the DG needed to make him an axe?
