Sleepy Hollow with Johnny Depp. I thought everything about this movie was great. The acting. The atmosphere. Perfect

Ernest Scared Stupid is another must watch for me

These are the best. Not because you grew up with them. I'm way too old for that. It's because they are cute and not really scary. It's a girlie thing. These 2 are by far my favorite Halloween movies. Cute over killing.

The Phantasm franchise had the potential to be better than the rest. But they waited 10 years for a sequel. While other horror franchises had a sequel come out each year and universal had them replace the actor that played Mike and took out the dream sequences that made the first one stand out. Then after the second movie, they lowered budgeted the sequels to death. I believe the fourth movie had a budget of $650,000.

Trick 'R Treat

And I may get downvoted to oblivion, but:

Halloween 3: Season of the Witch. Just go in knowing Michael Myers isn't in it and just enjoy it as a standalone movie. "Happy, happy Halloween, Halloween, Halloween. Happy, happy Halloween, Silver Shamrock!"

This. I like it more than Halloween 2. Such a creepy vibe throughout the entire movie.

Phantasm, The Fog, The Evil Dead, Prince of Darkness. If you’ve never seen Prince of Darkness you need to see it. It’s not about vampires.

John Carpenter intended it to be an anthropology movie that would dive more into the Halloween universe but audiences were confused as Michael was missing.

If you take the Halloween title away then it wouldn't have been as criticized as much and it is a decent movie.
