Kang sucked. Was nowhere near a worthy successor to Thanos. They needed a Doom or Mephisto or Galactus

Now that the X-men are on board there at lots of great villains not named Magneto, Sentinels, or Dark Phoenix

Mr Sinister, Stryfe (Brolin vol. 3), Apocalypse, Juggernaut (bitch), etc.

Even the rogue gallery like Omega Red, the Brood, Mojo, can be used in the general universe.

I still have no idea how they interject X-men into this universe, though. Looks like FF4 is getting the nostalgia nod and parallel universe, so it would be silly to do that again. Even things like Civil War took away the main X-Men plot (registration of those with powers). Developing Professor X and Magneto takes decades or backstory/exposition, so you can't just have some event we've seen (like the snap) start the mutations.

Extremely unlikely it’s just one character although Sue is the strongest member of the F4. Johnny probably right behind her considering he can ignite the planet

I agree and don't. They tried a different tact with Kang, and it didn't work, but I understand why they tried it.

They seeded Thanos over the course of several movies, but he was more of an unseen threat. They included him in stingers, as a hologram voice in Guardians. Doing the same thing with Kang likely would have felt repetitive.

You have a villain who has infinite iterations along with infinite power/threat levels. Introducing some of the lower level (and "good") versions is an interesting thought, but it also very clearly doesn't translate into a growing threat, as evidenced by everyone's apathy.

Also, I really liked the first season of Loki, and I thought that Jonathan Majors intro scene at the end was awesome. It's a bummer that Ant-man 3 and Loki season 2 were duds, and that Majors is clearly a POS. Villain experiment failed. We move on.

I guess that’s kind of the lame part as well

“Up you defeated this one…but guess what? He has other variants coming!”

“Whom have also been defeated before ?”

“Yeah…but they’ll keep coming!”

He probably would have been solid as a one off villain, just didn’t feel like a mega threat. It probably didn’t help the MCU in general has been stuck in the mud for a bit. Who was he even facing off against ? Are The Avengers a thing right now?

The MCU Kang is a better random pop up than the big bad. Like Q from Star Trek TNG. The way they made him, he's an annoyance that is eternal more than a doomsday threat.

Marvels removes the main bad guy, who is black, and replaces him with a white guy???

Pretty sure that's against the WOKE rules

The WOKE crowd is full of liberal white women who didn't like that some girl get Kanged. They had to choose.

This Kang had already lost to Loki and Antman so never gained the gravitas needed to be the big bad

They were probably not going to have either Kang we saw in Ant-Man or Loki be THE Kang for Kang Dynasty and would have had the Council be the main villains and use their army of Kang variants.

If they can nail the recasting and tell a good story, I wouldn’t mind seeing it down the road, but I’m also not going to be upset if they never venture down that path again.

I think from SDCC they are just scrapping all of it and hitting reset. Because from the looks of it we are getting;

Captain America: Brave New World
Thunderbolts
Fantastic Four
Avengers Doomsday

I'm guessing Doomsday will firmly establish Doom as a major threat.

I'm not seeing any additional Marvel movies for the remainder of the year when I look on Upcoming films on Rotten Tomatoes. So yeah it seems like we are getting a break from Marvel (much needed) and then a big reboot. We'll have to see if they actually course correct or not.

I'd really prefer the grounded Doctor Doom to any of those "all-powerful" foes. Doom always attempting to steal power from "the gods" is a better story than fighting the gods themselves.

My guess is they are going to say mutations have been around a long time they have just remained hidden, and that powerful people like Charles Xavier and Magneto have been in the background, but some event in the MCU accelerated them around the world.

Could be something to do with Red Skull in CA: 1st Avenger, not really sure, I am sure they can come up with something.

I hope they don't go the Multiverse route, and have mutants exist in the main MCU universe

From what I remember, wasn't the Abomination-Wong cage fight scene also in Shang Chi?

Yup - that fight is technically the first time we see Abomination since The Incredible Hulk.

We don't see the actor yet, and IIRC Abomination doesn't actually speak so if you're wanting the first time we see Tim Roth since The Incredible Hulk, THEN you'd be referring the She-Hulk.

From what I remember of She-Hulk, the lone bright spot was Madisynn, and she appears in only one episode.

They could end up doing what DC originally did way back in their first Crisis on Infinite Earths and merge all of the universes together.

Then you could pick and choose who remembers when it was different.

The layman doesn’t know who Kang is. I’d argue that a part of the problem with the MCU over the years is that the average public doesn’t know much beyond classic Avengers lineup, Spiderman cartoon (and enemies), X-Men cartoon lineup (and enemies), and F4 (to include Silver Surfer, Galactus, Doom).

With good storytelling, I got interested in Guardians, Winter Soldier, Black Panther, Strange, Ant Man, but they aren’t things I knew previously, and don’t have any enemies I know of.

Uh, cool, dude. You're certainly allowed to like whatever you want. I love the detailed way you backed up that strong opposing opinion.

I thought the first episode was an unsuccessful cluster; the four middle episodes were boring, struggled to integrate the cast members they apparently felt the need to keep, and the the new Kang brought nothing to the table; and the final episode in the season was good.

Naw, worst idea honestly.

Kang has a history of meddling with different dimensions. Pretty sure they will use him to bring the Fantastic Four over and his meddling will lead to mutants from various universes crossing over to the mainline MCU.

The mainline MCU Charles Xavier can do a home for mutants that have been brought over from across the multiverse instead of his typical school. They can even have the plot of the first movie be him searching for and teaching mutants that our new to our universe (sort of like the beginning of First Class) while dealing with unsavory mutants that have been brought over as well.

Hot take: I don’t want to see the MCU Magneto be a villain. Not saying he needs to be the golden boy hero, but I don’t care to see him as a villain anymore. And with them pulling mutants from the multiverse, they can pull them from different time periods and different situations.

Looks to me like they've already started down the parallel universe route with Xavier being in Multiverse of Madness, the Beast post credits appearance in Captain Marvel 2, and Deadpool/ Wolvie.

I think they maybe try and merge some timelines/ universes after Secret Wars.

Check IMDB and RottenTomatoes. Critic and Audience scores are both very high on it.

It’s widely considered to be the best of the MCU tv series so far.
