Harrison Ford, Christian Bale, and Sam Jackson have to be up there. I think I read that Sam's movies combined made more than any other actor's catalog.

I mean, Harrison Ford is both Han Solo and Indiana Jones.

Not hard to do when you don’t turn down any roles and make 8 of them a year

Jackson is the highest growssing actor, he has made something like 100 movies, that have grossed over 7 billion. Some of his big blockbusters: Marvel movies, Star Wars prequels, Pulp Fiction, Django Unchained, Jurassic Park...

Throw in Edward Norton, Leo, and Denzel too. They've all had some quality movies.

Jimmy Stewart and Humphrey Bogart should get consideration.

You beat me my 2 minutes.

I think every movie he was in was a major nominee and he was nailing Meryl Streep while she was young and pretty.

Well, if we're talking about box office grosses only, then Shia Labeouf has to be up there, right?

And I guess it depends on how one calculates it, but adjusted for inflation, I think Ford is #1 and Jackson is #2, and obviously Ford was the lead/featured actor in more of his films than Jackson was. Hanks, Freeman, Murphy and Cruise have to be the next four. We forget (because of his more recent career choices), but Murphy was a monster draw in the '80s, plus Shrek and then the kiddie film franchises (Nutty Professor/Dr. Doolittle), while terrible, were box office gold as well.
