Parasite Eve.
The novel was turned into a movie. The video game was it's own standalone part 2 to the novel/movie.

I feel like Overwatch has been setting it up for a movie. Don't think I'd really be into it. But I could easily see that eventually happening.

Aren't they doing a Halo series on one of the streaming services? I might be confusing it the LotR series on Amazon though.

Somewhere in there there is one way to do it right but 1 million ways to piss everyone off

Dead Space, done properly and better than Doom, would be a good chill & watch film. Plenty of directions for directors to go with the story and add entertaining intangibles.
Also thinking Devil May Cry, Deus X, & maybe Ninja Gaiden (Ninja Assasin was great; need same producer).
I know I'm pretty stoked with the upcoming Witcher series. Hopefully its done right.
