The last time we saw Bernard and Maeve go through (presumably the real timeline) of the attack on the hoover damn, Bernard backs up and hides something (a gun maybe) behind a pipe.

Right when he's stating that she leads because she is the better fighter.

Curious when that comes to play, and who is it for to find

Completely missed this. But for sure the man in black missed Hale's mind stone just a bit. Maeve and Bernard though. Man that ending was crazy.

Apparently because Dolores and Teddy don’t actually exist, at least not in physical form. That’s what I gathered from the ending.

super confused but loving this season.
could they be in the sublime which is why they arent in a physical form?
they could be running simulations like bernard was doing?

Sorry it was a promo pic for this weeks episode. Didn’t know folks were avoiding those. My fault.

Feels more like a series finale

Random thoughts as I watch the episode:

- MIB to the sniper: “fricking camper.”

- Man, they did Stubbs dirty.

- They did a better job than I expected tying up the loose ends/plot holes in the Christina storyline. It’s not stated explicitly, but I still believe she is OG Dolores, repurposed to run “the game” after her memory was wiped in season 3.

- Ironic that even as an AI, William is still trying to get to the center of the maze (the Sublime). The music as he walked up to the dam was a nice callback to season 1.

- Not entirely sure what to make of the ending or what it means moving forward (if it gets renewed). Gonna take me a while to process that.

ETA: I agree that it feels like a series finale.

It's a full re-set.

Great episode. I am super enjoying this season.

But I feel like it will just be a complete re-set.

Just as Bernard was running simulation after simulation. This is what Delores has been doing. Only, in a matter of seconds of our time.

The next episode will have young William getting off the train and they will set a more peaceful precedent to what the park (original westworld) should be about.

I think we’re headed for a Battlestar Galactica type ending.

I don’t really want to see a re-do, but I think that is what a lot of the next season will be. We’ll see.

ETA: New theory I’ve been thinking on. We know Delores was the first AI. Wasn’t the sublime already there way back in the time of S1 and S2, created by Ford? Theory is that Delores is running the Sublime and every single thing we have seen from the very beginning is her running simulation after simulation. This is a layer above what Bernard was doing. And as with Bernard, it is ending with all life ending, human and host. The key is for Delores to figure out what will change this loop. What we saw from her this season already happened prior to S1. I think the key to break the loop ( solve the real maze if you will) is to get William to not break bad after that first trip to the park.

Ok, my head hurts now.

1. I wonder how I would feel if the season had ended in episode 7, MIB walking into the city. All the deeper Delores stuff left for next season. Better ending? Leave on a bang. Not a whimper which leads to…

2. The last poster kinda had the idea too, it feels like Nolan and Joy have one last level of the game to reveal. The maze. First it was a new level to the game searched for by William. Then it was the search for consciousness by the hosts. What if all this time it’s the search for a way to solve the Delos upload of human consciousness problem? Is that what S. 5 is about? Has all of this been a simulation? We still have MIB way in the future from that credit reveal in S2.

3. Some have said this felt like a series finale. My thought is well kinda. I am nervous that the Discovery Channel/HBO merge thing has the show runners worried that WW is gonzo and they added enough to call it a series finale if need be retroactive. That sucks cuz the show is very thought provoking. It just smells it’s own farts sometimes.

4. Damn I never thought a failing robot giving a “I got to see you grow up” moment to a child it never had or knew would give me chills. That was well done. As a dad of 4. Kinda teared up.

5. I would say goodbye Bernard and Maeve but damn. Anybody can come back huh?

6. I know it’s probably not going to happen but I was really hoping for one last Anthony Hopkins cameo.

Anyway. Onto next season. Maybe

I think so.

I would hope that if HBO is dumb enough to not give a last season, that someone would fund maybe a movie to end it.

After last night a few things were cleared up. I thought that Christina (Delores) was in another park....turns out she was in her own consciousness.

For a second it seemed like Frankie talking and being near Caleb fixed whatever issues they were having with the bodies accepting a consciousness transfer. He stopped shaking enough to thread a needle..then Clementine showed up and really gave my boy Stubbs a crappy send off. Hopefully he missed his pearl....Right through the damn eye....

Seems like there are a few OG host pearls in the real world left after this apocalypse; Bernard, Clementine, Maeve, Stubbs, Hector, and Hanaryo. Wonder what will become of them?

They really never touched the 'flies' again. After these events I wonder how many humans are left besides the outliers? Are they all still insane even though the tower is destroyed?

Once again I'll be back for the next season because they left me with more questions than I had at the beginning of the season.

I think Bill sent out one final signal that the flies are carrying out with the chaos then destroyed the viability of the tower and locked Hale out so she couldn’t call off the command.

Interesting.

I'm trying to following this thread and getting the gist and vibe of Westworld.

Might a quick synopsis be about today's Elites' future goal where Transhumanism has run amok? And they've "succeeded" in "uploading" the human "mind/spirit" into indestructible robotic or virtual vessels?

I think the reset is a clear sign that they know they’ve gone off the rails and are going to try a get the show back to its initial direction. I complain about the show because I care. You have some outstanding performances by some great actors and incredible potential so I go into every season with a lot of hope. The main issues I have are that for a lot of characters there are no consequences. With all the copies and the Sublime it doesn’t matter how many times a host gets killed, like with Hale this week, they’re back within minutes so danger has become overhyped filler at this point. The other main problem is the constant role reversals. We’ve had the same main 3-5 characters just simply take each other’s place from one season to the next. The only difference is, through plot devices and awful writing, Dolores and Hale always somehow become portrayed as hero’s no matter what they’ve done previously. With one nonsensical line Hale goes from the ultimate oppressor/tyrant to the hero, human Bill is murdered and Hales creation becomes the real villain even though she made him and he’s destroying her world which is basically hell for humans, hosts, Hale herself and Dolores. Sorry for such a long post but that’s about 20% of just the obvious frickups since season 1.

We saw Delos start out by replacing key politicians and business leaders with hosts.

We saw that the robots created a parasite that allowed them to control humans like they were hosts using sound waves.

We saw Delos create a new park that served as a "super spreader" event for infecting the elites.

We found out that some humans are able to resist the parasite and have formed a resistance which includes Aaron Paul's child. We also got lots of hints of this crazy fly apocalypse as the flies swarmed families of humans and infected them. However, some of them still have repressed memories of this event.

We saw how the hosts have effectively flipped the paradigm and are now using humans as dolls, but are still sorta stuck in their own loops.

We saw that the hosts are slowly becoming disillusioned with living in this world where they are gods.

Wild. (great synopsis of ongoing themes -- again, I'm a Westworld noob.)

There seem to be mirroring parallels that actually start in our own reality ("Replacing" politicians/ business leaders = NWO/UN/One World Gubmint take over * Pandemic = Vaxx = Parasite * "Control" via Parasite + Sound waves" = EMF + Nanotech * Control of memories and some who have "resisted" -- aka NOT taken the Vaxx or "mark / chip"*)

Your other notes on the show...are eerily foreseeable in the not so distant future.

Appreciate a quick answer to a quick question:

Is Westworld a show that needs to be watched in sequence from Year One? Apparently there is character development and relationships?

When it was about “Elites”, their excesses and their callousness the show was outstanding. But it changed into this ham handed attempt to glorify a character who’s not only the personification of Elitist but portrayed as a savior. Which could’ve been an outstanding storyline but they didn’t wanna follow through with it because of outside issues. Hopefully they’ve realized how bad they’ve gone and can salvage something from it.
