If you don't think acting something out can have a deep psychological affect on someone, I'll just go ahead and say that's not true. He's desensitized to violence and whether he realizes it or not, he will be more willing to carry out real violence

But do we? He said something in the episode about business and investing. Maybe he's the representative the board has sent into the park.
Additional thoughts:
How does Lawrence know that the recent posse sent after Wyatt got wiped out? Is his character now off script? Somehow being fed info from the folks that monitor the park? He seemed to be in the know for a guy that was a prisoner since we've been introduced to him.

I think we can logically say he is not the representative for multiple reasons. Now the show could just be throwing us a red herring but I doubt it.
We know the man in black has been coming to the park for 30 years. We know his objective is to allow violence in the park. We know he knows all the storylines in the park. We know he has some inside information to know about the maze. We know he's human. We know he's rich. He isn't a liar. He ain't the lying sort. He's been pretty frank with everyone. He's referred to as a guest.

MIB and Ford are cleary the most interesting characters and primary story to me. Their dynamic is the crux of the show and has all sorts of similarities to The Matrix, Tron Legacy, and numerous others.
Hopkins deserves an emmy for his work, he has become a straight, terrifying character when we all though he was the sweet old man in episode one. The meeting with him and Ed Harris next week is going to be incredible television.

Just some observations...
A couple of episodes ago we saw what appeared to be the steeple of an old, burned out church sticking out of the ground. It was when Ford and the boy were out walking. This week, I can't remember if it was Delores or Maeve, but one of them had a flashback to a chapel and, judging from most flashbacks that have been shown, it's safe to say that something bad/ominous might have happened there. Not sure how it all ties together. Perhaps that is where/how Arthur died? I'm probably going to watch this episode again since anything past 9:30 gets a little fuzzy for me to recall the following morning.

so have we determined if MIB is real or a robot yet?

He's a guest. One of the other guests came up to him tonight and mentioned how much respect for him and his foundation because his (Ed Harris) work had saved his (other guest) sister's life. MiB replied to something along the lines of "I'm on vacation. Mention my work again and I'll slit your throat."

I thought Wyatt was just put into the story with the new storyline unless I'm missing something. How is he tied into the oldest story in the game then?
I think Wyatt has always been in, they just recently gave the storyline to Teddy to go after him, so that's just the first you hear of him.
Teddy is going to wind up being a hero

I'm curious if Delores will have a conflict if and when she is around both WILLIAM and Teddy

What am I missing with Ed Harris' character? He's a total douche. He walks around like he's some sort of BA shooting at a bunch of people who can't shoot him back. So hardcore.
He's worse than they annoying brother, at least he knows it's all a game.

We haven't . The vacation line seems to imply Guest, but I'm skeptical of his black gloves. I know he has everything in black down to his horse, but the gloves to me imply a Luke Skywalker, Vader type moment when he reveals a sort of robot hand. He could be some kind of hybrid.

He's basically the equivalent of a maxed out prestige account in CoD4

My questions from this episode:
- When they bring the hosts back and have their interviews and then the hosts wake up back where they are...are they physically moving them? Deloroes woke right back up with William after talking to Bernerd. Or was it a different timeline?
- Ford mentioned "the neighbors" complaining about his giant earth eater thing. So...was that a joke or are they really on Earth in the middle of a desert?
- The MiB is someone famous IRL. Interesting. Not really a question but at least we got some type of nugget into who he really is
- The black British whore becomes completely self aware at the end of the episode. I'm surprised she hasn't "infected" others yet. Maybe she does now.
- WTF was the earth eater machine?
- Can Ford control the hosts with his mind?

Different timeline. The show has centered on Delores as the main character. The pilot opens with "Wake up Delores, Do you know where you are?" and that continues in this episode. Everything, everything so far, has been framed around Delores. They have been using clever scene cuts throughout the series so far jumping around timelines. This was one.

It certainly implies it. It's still not enough information about exactly where they are but it lends that they have people very close to them on the outside. "Neighbors" could also mean the other two parks: Medieval World and Roman World.

Even more interesting about this line is that they mentioned he's the head of a foundation that saved someones life. This opens up a ton of questions and can of worms. I think his foundation could be related to artificial organs, body parts. THis could be why he is so interested in Ford's work. This is totally a guess on my part though.

She has been becoming aware slowly since she woke up being cleaned up and repaired. She finally got some solid info and tangible evidence from the bandit. The question is, will she keep remembering more on every reset? She's been drawing the pictures of the workers for a while now it seems. I'd have to guess this is where the main rebellion starts. I'm starting to think there is going to be a robot moral dilemna, with Delores on the good side and Muave on the bad, but it's still early for that.

WTF was the earth eater machine?
No clue. Just implies to me that Ford's new narrative is going to be massive. He's also using explosives to destroy mountains. The scale is huge on what he's planning, I think that was the main point of the Earth Eater.
quote:
Can Ford control the hosts with his mind?
Seems like it. Between him controlling the snake a few episodes back, and the scene stopping everything instantly, it seems to suggest Ford is playing God. He must have installed something that reacts to his brainwaves or something similar. In our world, they have computer interfaces that can read and be controlled with the mind, I'd have to think this is the next level of that.

I believe the beginning of the episode where Delores is seen talking to Bernard was just a flashback to an earlier meeting of them and then when she wakes up we're in the present. I think the whore clearly already infected the outlaw by showing him the bullet from a previous life and telling him how this doesn't matter. I think he meant the neighbors as in the host close by in the world. He could possibly control them with his mind since he clearly has a higher level of control over the host than anyone else but I doubt it. I'm more inclined he can do it with subtle gestures or something similar to that.the big machine was just showing that he was completely destroying that part of the world. Maybe setting up to build the Roman or medieval world's like some have mentioned.

He knows he's bored of the game because he has been there for so long and he's now looking for a way to make things more realistic (that last part is my guess to his motives). To be fair, he does seem to be pretty handy with a revolver. Pretty accurate.

Random thoughts:
Consciousness is a huge theme in this series.
The maze: What if completion of the maze reveals to the participants that the current perceived human world is indeed also a simulation? Machine and human would be equally enslaved/ free?

I mean
Not really a spoiler because this came out in an interview a few weeks ago
But
Spoilers
In an interview, ed Harris said that he was human and would get to see how his backstory turned him into who he is as seen in the show
No, I don't have a link. Read it in a newspaper entertainmtbguide with the Sunday paper

Could be a dumb question but who was Ford referring to when he told the money woman that she should already know who the member of the board was.
