Also I thought the hosts reset every night. Are there just intervals where they reset everything.

If hosts reset overnight, how do they go on overnight excursions with guests?

Clearly I was wrong about that.

Snake chick is like the little girl at the village; she's just a harbinger of another clue in the maze, the next clue being Wyatt.
My guess is the man in black is the representative from the board that ford mentioned.
This show is like red dead redemption meets Lost meets Truman Show meets Ex Machina. I'm so geeked up for episode 5; that preview looked amazing.
I think Ford has a full on god complex to the point that he is trying to teach the hosts religion, wherein he must give them memories so that they can formulate tales and make sense of their world by ascribing meaning to the symbols and memories they have. Ford meeting with Harris in episode 5 appears to be like a meeting between God and the devil; one has this grand design he wants to see through, the other wants answers an aims to unravel whatever God has planned to get them if he has to.

I think they reset hosts based on their interaction with guests. If they're with a guest, they stay with that guest until they die or the gust leaves or ditches them. If the guest walks right on by them, they reset to the same loop the next morning

I'm gonna give my 2 cents and use the video game skyrim as example. If you go into solitude and kill a couple people you will have a bounty on your head and so the next time you go there the guards will attack you and the people will run from you unless you get arrested or pay your fine. That is unless you are so powerful that you can literally kill everything that moves within solitude. In that case the next time you go there after leaving, the town will have reset itself ( except for npcs who only have 1 life then permadeath kicks in) and the guards will not attack you and will act as if this is the first time you've ever set foot in the city. I believe something similar to that is what happens here.

And we also saw thru the "sherrif" how they can grab hosts without interrupting the guests experience

Yes and we saw how mission control monitors everything, alters storylines if need be, sends in cleanup crews, etc
Also found it interesting that they had to grant permission for pyrotechnics to the man in black before he could blow open the cell door

So what is the project Ford is working on?
I think he wants to introduce religion.

Some of them are already hearing voices tho. I wonder what that's from. Also wonder if the mib knows he had to be granted permission for pyrotechnics

Best episode so far.
That seen with Ford at the restaurant was perfectly done.

that is a question i started to ask after the repetition in this episode
i get that thematically they need the resets to create the memories that are causing all this confusion, but it's really kind of not working in terms of linear storytelling. now that is probably a leveling they're creating, but it's kind of cheap imho
i had high hopes for this show but i will admit it's not really connecting with me through 4 episodes. i think they're trying to do too much in terms of storylines and not focusing enough on the interesting themes (consciousness, AI, etc)

To be honest, I just see no reason for him to do that, even though that's also the sense I got a couple episodes ago (or whenever he was on the walk with Bernard).

We are missing motivation. We have no idea what is motivating anyone.

except that one a-hole-friend of the mcpoyle brother

I have been liking the show, but I think I can agree with this.
Right now we have a lot of people doing shady things and maneuvers around each other, but it is just out of grasp as to why.
But so far with how well it seems fleshed out to me IMO, I think they will get there in due time.

They seem to really hate spending time together. His characters only purpose was to get William in the park. Now he's just a lame line or two per ep.

I actually don't think he's that bad. He's not actually hurting anybody. He may be an a-hole, but I can't blame him too much for not wanting to get distracted by every little thing a robot comes at him with.

i'm just saying we know his motivation
