It's already been explicitly stated that the park is way more deep than just giving people a place to get their kicks for a shitload of money.

What if the guests only think they are "guests" and are actually robots too? Just like every host has a backstory and framework, so it seems does every guest. The MIB on a mission, the poon hound, the super-chivalrous fiancée, the businessman and his wife, etc. Perhaps the MIB is the first one to become self-aware and is trying to find the same "freedom" that Dolores is now seeking. That would explain why the maze is so important to him.

The only other things I can think of as his motivation are to die in the game like Arnold or to become a fixture in the game and essentially be invincible.

Another interesting note, I'm pretty sure someone stated that the guests are unable to hurt each other in the game, but MIB threatened to slit homeboys throat, and meant it.

They aren't. If anything some of the human workers in corporate are also hosts. I just can't seeing guests as hosts because then what is the point of the park?

So Ford referred to Bernard as an employee. Can hosts be considered employees?

studying the robots ability to emulate "human" behavior under any number of permutations, prepping for ultimate introduction of humans into the park or robots into the real world. who the hell knows? but we do know that the point of it is not a vacation spot because they told us that.

No reason to think otherwise. I think Bernard is a host. AH manipulates him so easily.

yeah the way they described his dreams or whatever did do the "this is just an implanted memory for motivation" leveling. i just wish they had maybe 1-2 fewer side stories so that we could get deeper on that kind of shite and not spread everything out so much

They are all in on his storyline. AH mention the son in a weird way, it was like he was prompting bernard like you would prompt a robot

wait

the show is basically showing how terrible that mentality is

it's doing the opposite of promoting rape culture. that's part of the point of the a-hole friend-coworker of mr mcpoyle

I think we can logically say he is not the representative for multiple reasons.

I don't believe we can LOGICALLY say he is not the representative. We know nothing of the representative at all to exclude him or anyone else for that matter. Knowing what we know about Ed Harris so far doesn't make his character LOGICALLY the representative either. Perhaps it's more likely that he is than young black hat, but seems to me that he's more likely just a frequent flyer to the park with an agenda this go round.

Really the only evidence that would suggest it might be Harris is the other guest saying that he has a foundation meaning he's pretty rich and powerful in the real world. Foundations and boards go hand in hand with businesses and whatnot. BUT immediately after we learn that fact he says himself that he's on vacation with no interest in discussing the outside world.

(End of that point.)

Now, on to thoughts on the maze. I'm thinking the maze, at least for Ed Harris, is a way to turn off the safety protocols or to have such a challenging experience that his life is in mortal danger. The maze could go a few ways for the hosts, though (consciousness, freedom, etc.).

Lies. By episode 3 you were criticizing td saying they would need a big reveal and no way it could fulfill the dark supernatural thing that was being presented

we're kind of splitting hairs here, but it was probably 4-5 b/c i knew they weren't going to have enough time to fulfill that aspect (which is all that we were talking about)
