Okay I have to ask because I remember reading ads for "Spanish fly" when I was little and never thinking very much about it.
Was the term Spanish Fly something other date rapists who used drugs commonly referred to as slang?
I had always attributed it to the equivalent of eating oysters or just a fake advertisement intended to dupe gullible men out of money.

I watched the beginning of the show and it seemed like a bunch of 3rd rate reporters and D list has beens not close to the issue giving very outside opinions and spins.
Call me naive, but I can’t imagine a man that can play the role Bill Cosby did for so long, and have such an impact on people be so evil. Very hard to believe.

As far as I know he and Lisa did not have a close relationship but it had nothing to do with these things. More to do with his control over the wholesomeness of the show and her direction to be more of a free spirit.
As far as I know, nobody close to Bill Cosby has spoken negatively about him towards this issue.

Which is the entire premise of the documentary.. and why it makes such compelling TV.
The dichotomy between America’s dad (not just black America’s dad, for anyone who lived thru the 80s, he was America’s dad- even wrote a best-selling book called ‘Fatherhood’,etc).. .. the contrast between that guy and the convicted, not ‘alleged’, serial rapist is pretty fascinating and very sad .

It was thrown out under the guise that he was denied due process as he made incriminating statements believing he had prosecutorial immunity.
So if we have to acknowledge that the conviction was thrown out, you should acknowledge the circumstances.

They did kinda. So much so that they talked about her going nude in Angel Heart and he advised her against it for moral reasons IIRC. Which is just yet another odd aspect to all of it.
