Anyone watching this new docuseries We Need to Talk About Cosby ? It’s on Showtime and while it’s definitely not always pleasant , it’s real interesting.. Craziest thing is all the references they highlight in The Cosby Show where Bill is blatantly putting his perversions out there on display, and it sailed right over America’s collective heads .. Part 3 aired last night, not sure how many more there are .

Example?
The Cosby show was a comedy about a family. So of course there will be comedic references between Cosby and his wife, as is in any marriage.

Sure did .
I had vaguely remembered that ep, but they showed the clip and it was wild how he was talking about his BBQ sauce being an aphrodisiac and stuff .

They also showed the clip where he went on Larry King Live talking about Spanish Fly, and i believe he referenced Spanish Fly in his act in the 60s and 70s as well.
To be fair, i remember seeing ads for Spanish Fly when i was a kid and talking about it with my friends.. but when you put it in context of what he’s alleged to have done to 50 or 60 different women, it gets weird.

Another kind of strange thing that was talked about in the documentary was the fact that Cosby had creative control over absolutely everything on that show.. and that he chose to make the character Dr Heathcliff Huxtable an OB/GYN who examines his patients in the basement of his house where his office is located…. I was thinking that might be kind of a reach, but again, in terms of what we know now, it does make you wonder why he didnt make him a dentist, or just a regular pediatrician or something .
