I’ve never read the comics or seen the movie. Just been watching cold, even though sci if and superhero stuff is usually not my thing.

It’s been an interesting series, but this penultimate episode of the season was really awesome. Time jumps and stuff usually lose me because I just don’t care enough to study a TV show like a trig test, but they kept it where it was simple to follow.

It was by far my favorite episode so far. Looking forward to the finale.

I meant more as in a Marty Mcfly sense of agent of change. Not that he is unable to do stuff.

It still blows my mind that people unfamiliar with Watchmen are watching this show. I never thought a show like this would succeed because of the barrier to entry but I'm glad I was wrong.

My parents are watching it and while they have told me that they have no real idea what’s going on, they’re enjoying it

Some comparisons can be made to the Mandelorian (obviously made for much different audiences)

Basically you can easily consume the content as is without the background info and it’s still a good show, but it is enhanced if you know the Easter eggs and back ground from the comic/movie

Adding in the Petey files was a great move too. Easy way to get more background info on everyone without unnecessary character background dragging the shows pace and story down

Just finished it.

Didnt see it coming that Angela would be the one who told her grandpa about Judd.

Did I miss something but how would the 7K have know that Cal was Dr. Manhattan?

There is a part in the episode last week that she asks him when was the last time he was afraid. His answer was when i was torn apart. I actually think he was referencing the future instead of the past 50 years ago. In the watchmen film Veidt hits him with a tachyon cannon that tears him apart but he puts himself back together. I assume he will do the same with the white dudes.

No I know he has the ability to put himself back together.

One of my favorite lines of Jons from the comic is “I’d almost forgotten the excitement of not knowing, the delights of uncertainty.” Seems like that's the way he wants it in the show and is able to live for a while, I just cant remember/think of what would have given him away. Lady Trieu obviously knew but she isnt working with the 7K.

That's from the film. Snyder added the line, "I feel fear for the last time." It's right as the second hand on the watch hits 12 and the intrinsic field generator kicks in.

I thought it was cool that Angela didn't understand the timelines and revealed to 10 years ago Will Reeves that Judd had the Klan robe....thus setting all that shite off.

Despite Angela's fears that she initiated all the events, wouldn't all of it have happened regardless of Will and Angela's involvement? The 7K have clearly been intent on capturing and absorbing DM powers for some time and it doesn't appear that Judd was still necessary to accomplish those goals.
I feel like that was just a way for the show to put a bow on their season long "egg" symbolism, especially with DM even mentioning it and chuckling.

Do we know that Judd was involved or was it his wife keeping tabs on him while she ran the 7K? Could've been her who hid the robe in the closet.

Let not be so sure

The 7K has been using all Trieu technology during all this (her company logo is on all their tech)

She also does not seem to like Dr Manhattan, likely due to his Vietnam involvement.

She is close with Veidt for sure, and was in contact with him before his disappearance so It’s also possible that she does not know that Veidt chose to go to Europa and thinks that DM has in prisoned him against his will (and he may be her father of course)

She also has the clock tower thing going on, which the Petey files mention she gave everyone in Tulsa a TV, along with her owning all the Manhattan terminals, it seems like a natural connection that she plans on using the mind control tech in some capacity

I think it’s very possible she’s either working directly with the 7k, possibly helping them so that she can set up her own plan for changing the world how she sees fit, maybe to finally complete Ozymandias’s plan for Utopia.

I can see her definitely manipulating the whole thing and actually being apart of the 7k.

I mean she basically manipulated Angela into going home and waking up Dr. Manhattan so the 7k could kidnap him.

BUT at the same time. Her partner in all this appears to be Will Reeves and he is obviously very much against the 7K and I assume he is the one feeding her information about Dr. Manhattan and how to "save the world" since Dr. Manhattan told him 10 years beforehand.

If I had to guess she's actually a good guy but they are just throwing in some stolen tech with her name on it to make it appear shes bad.
