Petey Pedia recap
“Fog Dancing”- Petey talks about agent Blake missing and a couple redacted names being missing. Talks about the scene at the looking glass house where he found the dead Calvary. Goes into detail about a book called Fog Dancing that recounts the Vietnam’s soldiers struggled with what they did in Vietnam with the Comedien and Manhattan. Mentions the author of the book “disappeared” around the time of 11/2, most people believe either the Nixon administration made her and other artists disappear to silence them or that she had a role in 11/2 and they killed her to cover it up (that’s the new frontiersman conspiracy)
He then talks about a book called “Nothing ever ends” which was about the life of the writer of the Fogdancing book. Petey then goes on to talk about him submitted a review of the book into a contest or in college and he came in 50th out of 50 contestants. Then he rambles on about Agent Blake talking about the two origin stories of a costumed adventurer and how it relates to him.
I only read it once so I may have fricked up some details so don’t kill me but that seems like they are confirming Petey as Lubeman
The other part of the files was his actual review of the Nothing Ever Ends book, I haven’t read it yet

Not my favorite episode (needed more Jean Smart).
I wish that they had spent more money on making Dr. Manhatten look and sound like the film version. Not that it needed to be the same actor, but the ways that they digitally augmented his appearance and voice in the movie were way more impressive.
Either that or just keep him looking like Cal for longer stretches of time.
The Veidt Plan A and Plan B segment was done extremely well. Again, the "I did it 30 years ago" line was cheesy but entertaining, but this series gets away with these shoutouts.
So much to take care of in the final episode. I think that Veidt's escape from Europa is what I'm looking forward to the most.

Also huge reddit theory, which I am now 100 percent convinced of so read at your own volition:
Will Reeves is going to become, or already has received Dr Manhattans powers. And it all comes down to an egg.
When Angela had Will “hostage” in her bakery, she came back to him eating a boiled egg. We then see him stand up in his wheelchair in a later episode. But in the flashback he is still bound to his wheelchair while he is killing Judd Crawford. Thus he can walk because DM gave him the powers.
When she is at dinner with DM she asks him if he can transfer his powers into an egg, and he says that he can.
When he is in the kitchen he tells Angela to “watch the eggs” before she slams them down.
Basically when he met with Will 10 years ago, he gave him an egg with his powers in them for him to take when the time comes. Will mentions to Trieu that Angela has to learn the truth and “she will hate me for it” because he knows he will have to become DM to save the world, thus taking away the love of her life. Ending their relationship tragically
To tie it all together with a cherry on top, Red Panda (cop with the panda mask) has a theory back earlier in the season that Hooded Justice was Dr Manhattan which another cop tells him how dumb that is. But would fit in with how they have laid out the clues to the ending they have given so far.

I was so tired last night and didnt start watching until 11:30. So the last half of the episode was an on and off blur for me. I liked the episode so far, but they didnt do the best job of making Angela look young. The way they did ger hair made her look older than the 2019 timeline. I thought the opening scene was great though. You haven't seen Dr and the first glimpse is his blue hand picking up the blue mask.

Yeah, I kinda regret reading that thread. Wish I had gone in blind because that seems like a good theory.
Lol @ Veidt telling Dr Manhattan that becoming a black man might be problematic
I'm really curious to see how this ends. The comics really don't have a happy ending, so I'm assuming this won't either.

That was great perfectly toned joke for the show and the reaction it’s gotten

Makes total sense to me.

Episode was great. I really enjoyed the bar scene overall.
This definitely made me laugh, and maybe it’s because I was a teenager at the time, but I don’t remember a whole lot of ‘blackface’ scandals back in 2009. I thought it would have been even better had the timing been a bit later in the story, but regardless I still LOL’d.

frick, I feel like I just read the plot synopsis for the final episode. Guess I still have the veidt wrap up to look forward to though
That’s a great theory; wouldn’t be at all surprised if it’s exactly what happens

Great episode. I thought they did a really good job with the jumping around on the timelines to try and explain how DM experiences everything.
Excited to see how this all wraps up.

It’s one where you read the title and roll your eyes and then read the theory and are like frick that’s dead on and makes sense

Twitter was started in 2009 so at worst it’s an extra meta joke about the beginning of outrage culture

Agreed. I was never confused or lost in the flashbacks.
I really liked the way they portrayed DM in the bar scene as a whole too. Not showing his face, making him seem very mysterious, etc....the hand movements were a great touch. I felt like they did capture how I would expect his mannerisms to be very well.
That may just be me though and my imagination thinking it matched up well though.

I thought it was cool that Angela didn't understand the timelines and revealed to 10 years ago Will Reeves that Judd had the Klan robe....thus setting all that shite off.

When that first note of "Mr. Blue" played, I busted out laughing.

It was a little weird that she’s a detective and that’s the question she wanted to ask him even tho there is no evidence or anything to suggest that he would know who Judd Crawford was 10 years ago
Also DM is having a conversation with him telling him that Angela exists, so clearly he would know that Will doesn’t know about that, so it’s weird that he would ask that, knowing it doesn’t line up.
But I can allow that to tie things up more cleanly

Whoever made that Black Mirror song has prolly made more money over the past 5 years than they ever did during their musical prime
