Heroism and courage are bad and dumb unless it’s a purple haired lady or fat Asian girl doing it.
Men are bad and dumb.

I don't think it's a conspiracy, but it seems intentional at the very least that, the men in the film are huge problems. You have:
Whiny, Tantrum throwing children - Hux and Kylo
Arrogant, Over-confident A-Holes - Snoke and Poe
Comedic Relief, Most inept characters - Finn
Chaotic Neutral - DJ
Whiny, Defeated, Old Dude - Luke
Balanced against:
Powerful, Flawless - Rey, Leia
Smart, Capable, Self-Sacrificing - Holdo
Honorable, Orderly - Phasma
Honest, Hard-working, Caring - Rose
When these traits are shared across the board, or split more evenly, you get The OT.
The entire plot of the film revolves around men making mistakes, and women correcting them. And that is in fact the thrust of most of the dramatic moments. From the first scene of Poe's rejection of orders, to Kylo taking the battlefield for no reason, to Finn's failed sacrifice, to Rey's mastery of the force in like 6 months, it's just, odd.
MOST of this would be fine if it didn't seem....so constructed. So produced, and I think that's the issue for most people. It feels intentional, not organic, and when you throw that in with the simple rejection of the OT in the film, mostly symbolized by Luke tossing the saber, well, here we are.

Then you’re blind as a bat...did you fall asleep during the entire scene on the casino planet? Some people can’t see the forest for the trees

Didn’t even realize that. Makes her storyline even worse.

Exactly, she went from not even knowing Jedi were real to mastering the force in that amount of time. It's completely ridiculous.

I can handle stupid SJW shite. The writing and character development was just piss poor.

Mag I don’t know if you’re high AF, or just in a odd mood to double down on stupid, but in this thread you are fricking retarded.
It’s pretty clear the difference being someone just saying they liked it, versus you, devoting a dozens of posts to defending the many idiotic aspects of the movie with equally idiotic arguments.
And I’ve been consistent with that throughout this thread.
Of course, consistent with your approach, you raise this (yet another) horrible point and I have to explain the obvious difference to you like a child.

Also keep in mind TFA also takes space in like 3 days, so she’s gone from digging for scraps to being an all powerful god in a week. It’d be one thing if Rey had been previously trained in the Force and just had her mind wiped, but that’s not at play anymore.

That problem begins in TFA though - TLJ just continued her as she was.
Sequel Trilogy is going to crash and burn harder than the prequels. Thus far they are 0/2 for a movie with both a coherent and original idea.

Agreed. I don't think TFA gets enough hate.

Which that was salvageable and implied by Abrams what was really going on. Johnson instead decided to throw out all logic and continuity out the fricking window and just do the opposite of anything that would be a coherent thought.

The movie had some entertaining spots but was riddled with holes and destruction of the known that the movie was rendered a fantasy.
One of the most beautiful scenes was also its worst IMO.. If it was known that one could simple use hyperspeed to split space and matter as a weapon then why do most of the other episodes even exist.

The funny thing is that these are all just opinions and the people get worked up over someone disagreeing with them. Sounds like they are becoming what they hate.....a SJW.

I may be wrong.... but it seems like you are saying you're ok with animal cruelty and slavery?
You would think that because you’re ignorant. Pointing out something is pointless in the overall context of the movie does not mean you support animal cruelty and slavery.
But the funny thing is they freed the animals and left the child slaves and all was right in the world. Shows you pretty much what their priorities are. And you’re ok with that.

quote:The OT had a ton of diverse characters that had significant roles and were loved.
If the movie had been great the sjw talk would have lasted about a week.
Leia - loved, general/leader of the rebellion.
Lando - loved, leader of the city.
Chewbacca/Yoda/Akbar - Non humans. Loved. Skilled/Godlike-powers/Fleet commander.
Ewoks - hated, but cute.
The new ones are stupid because they are diversity for diversity sake. Some have no relevance whatsoever. Or are powerful just because they are diverse, which is stupid.
How can the OT fans be bigoted when they loved these same characters or archetypes before?
The muh-SJW narrative is bullshite, and it's only used as a way to blame the audience for not liking a terrible movie.
Typical leftist tactics. Can't win the argument on merit. SO, you try to attack the person's character.

Apparently the galaxy has a problem with a neverending supply of spontaneously appearing space Nazis with unlimited money and resources. The rebels have destroyed 3 Death Stars and fleets worth of star destroyers but im sure in the 3rd movie we will get more death stars and another massive fleet and army of space nazis

It is as never about “freeing the animals”. They were used in an escape plan that just happened to free them. Nowhere did they ever say “I have to free those poor animals”.
