So you’re requesting for this to be very directly spoonfed to you? Like word for word? It couldn’t be any more obvious. “We need to stop the jockeys!”

Yeah Rian Johnson, thats a big concern of mine.

Exactly, she went from not even knowing Jedi were real to mastering the force in that amount of time. It's completely ridiculous.

It’s not like Luke had extensive training prior to facing Vader and the Emperor. Even Yoda said he wasn’t ready. What did he do exactly? Lifted some fricking rocks and went on a jungle run with Yoda in his backpack.

I think the point of the whole scene with Yoda ghost and Luke was to say that there will always be Jedi and Sith even if no one is there to train them. There are going to be people who just have an affinity for it. They may not understand it, but they will be able to use it. That’s why Yoda destroyed the Jedi texts. They were pretty much useless.

And he got his arse kicked

There were 3 years between Star Wars and Empire. We don’t know what if anything Obi-Wan left him, but assuming he had no contact with force ghost Obi-Wan he was at least training with the Rebellion learning skills and doing physical military training that might, you know come in handy in a sword fight.

Rey literally went from not even knowing the Jedi were real to beating a TRAINED Jedi/Sith who obviously had somewhat strong force powers, (stopping laser blasts in mid air) who we know is constant contact with a mentor in Snoke in a what a week tops, cause he was hurt? GTFO It’s totally stupid and goes against the rules established in this series.

One of the most beautiful scenes was also its worst IMO.. If it was known that one could simple use hyperspeed to split space and matter as a weapon then why do most of the other episodes even exist.

I'll be arguing against quite a few points made in this thread, but wanted to address this real quick:

You're complaint above was addressed by Han in ANH.

It's always been in play.

It didn’t say it would annihilate the planet, just themselves. I just figured they were like say photons that could pass through matter, but maybe it’d scramble the people going through hyperspace. Why not autopilot 8 X-Wings towards the Death Star and put them in hyperdrive? It ruins basically every Star Wars Story. Additionally TFA shows that you can get through the shields of Starkiller Base by going faster than light, which means that should have been easily destroyed as well. You can not introduce hyperdrive weaponry.

Oh I’m here with common sense.

Yes you can. It's completely possible that it was never done before because no one thought of it. Or, maybe because these types of attacks are largely inneffective. Or, maybe because it's a waste of resources that can be better used another way.

Then you have to introduce the idea of everyone in the Star Wars Universe having single digit IQs.

No you don't. Read a fricking history book, then come back and post.

Are you legitimately retarded? I’m about to feel bad about bullying you. What’s the first question humanity asks itself after inventing anything: How do we weaponize it? You have to be trolling me at this point.

Rewatching it right now and it's not really as bad as I remember. Hell, it's not even really a bad movie.

The story and characters just go in a direction that really hurts my heart.

I have said this movie could have been decent as a stand alone film.

But as a SW film in the Skywalker line of films, it is fricking awful.

Cutting out the treatment of iconic characters in the new trilogy (Deadbeat Dad Han, Chewie being generally useless, Vaginal Hermit Luke, and Leia Poppins), and I could have blown off the other half of my complaints as just creative silliness that I could turn my brain off and watch. . .on par with a Transformers movie or a post-Unbreakable Shaymalan flick (Airbender notwithstanding. . .maybe)

No, he just suffers from the deadliest of sins: pride.

He will die on the smallest little hill.

I’ve seen it many times.

Yeah, that's nice. Again, read a book. Try something in military history.

I watched it last night. First time since I saw it in the theater.

I just saw it was on Netflix and decided to watch. Had no emotional investment whatsoever.

That film is a piece of feminist SJW garbage.

It went out of its way to avoid having a strong, positive white male character. It went out of its way to paint capitalism as evil. It went out of its way to preach a sermon I didn't want to hear.

Garbage.

Typically when someone doesn’t site examples but implores others to read a book it means you really don’t have a valid example however to his point the Wright Bros flight at Kitty Hawk was 1900, planes were used as weapons in WWI, the first major conflict after that.

I said something never or rarely happens, and you think I'm the one who needs to provide examples?

No one has provided a valid example, including you.

Neat. Does someone need to explain why this is irrelevant to you.
