Munich is a 2005 historical drama film produced and directed by Steven Spielberg and written by Tony Kushner and Eric Roth. It is based on the book Vengeance, an account of Operation Wrath of God, the Israeli government's secret retaliation against the Palestine Liberation Organization after the Munich massacre at the 1972 Summer Olympics. Munich received five Academy Awards nominations: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Editing and Best Score.
I thoroughly enjoyed it. Daniel Craig and Eric Bana were a joy to watch.
What say ye?

Definitely one of my favorite movies about hunting down the Munich terrorists ... loved the scene where they capped the smoke show with the bicycle pumps after they learned that the hunters had become the hunted. All star cast for sure. Cyrian Hinds was in that too I think.
Don't the Israelis make for the best revenge stories though y'all ... for some reason.
Why is that?
Seems so acceptable yet anti-Jesus. Just so long as it's Israelis extracting revenge - it's cool.

I really like it. But, it feels like one of those movies that isn't for everyone.
Whatever happened to Eric Bana? I feel like his time in the big-budget spotlight wasn't as long as I would have expected.

Starring in "The Dry". Australian crime thriller being shot right now
I'd like to see him in more movies too

It is one of the greatest movies ever made, and it shows how even righteous anger and revenge will rot your soul and turn you into a monster.
Next to ET, which is a very different kind of movie, it is Spielberg's greatest achievement.

and every time they said the main terrorist's name, Ali Hassan Salameh, it just made me want to go to the nearest sandwich shop.

Listen, I love Munich but to mark it as Spielberg's #2 greatest achievement is a gross overstatement
In no certain order
1. E.T.
2. Jaws
3. Saving Private Ryan
4. Schindler's List
5. Close encounters
6. Indiana Jones
7. The Post
8. Poltergeist
9. Jurassic Park

Great movie. Bana very underrated actor. Very Touching scene with him hearing his daughter’s voice for the first time over the phone.

One of the best modern movie depictions of the 1970s on film.
Everything Spielberg did in the movie, from the vintage lighting to the long zooms to the wardrobe and feel of the whole movie made you feel like you were in a 1970s crime-paranoia-political Thriller movie.
It was kind of like The French Connection mixed with The Conversation.
It's not the best Spielberg by a mile, but it's one of the best under the radar films of the past few years.

I've seen this movie mentioned on here several times in high regard, in a sentence or 2 what is it about?
I don't like to read online stuff too much before viewing

I recently watched it again for only the second time. I enjoyed it immensely because I was surprised how much I had forgotten about the movie. It was much more of a morality play than I remembered.

Great movie. Thought it was realistic in that the group was kind of feeling their way through the hits and becoming more blood thirsty too. And Spielberg's best is definitely Schindler's List.
