They should have just ended the show with Jim and Pam's wedding. So I guess that would be my jump the shark moment.

To go from that to "fat dullard spills chili, then rolls around in it" just felt cheap
It is cheap.
Parks n Rec > Office
Legend has it that Ron Swanson has fricked Holly Flax once a month for the past 9 years just to cuck Michael Scott the ultimate simp.

You just can't resist an Office thread, can you?

Right season, wrong episode.
The Duel was when it jumped the shark.

Lolwut? Parks never falls off, once it gets going in season 2 it remains consistent til the end

If it hadn't already jumped the shark it definitely did in the episode I watched the other day when Kevin didn't know his ABCs

I thought park’s peak was seasons 3 & 4 and then it declined steadily through the rest of the series. Didn’t really care for the last season much.

It wasn't funny because he dropped the chili, it was funny because "it's the thing he does best," and no matter what Kevin kind of fumbles everything. Even the thing he does best.
It was on point for the character and the show, because you were hoping he would show everyone what he does best. They missed him nailing basketball shots, it was a callback to the good things he does that no one sees.
Exactly. It's like how he's great at gambling odds but sucks with numbers when it comes to being an accountant. Or how he is good enough at poker to have a WSOP bracelet but loses to Phyllis who doesn't even know how to play.

This actually never happened. Sorry you are mistaken.

Nope.
I’m on season seven of my office re-watch just so I can text a friend a few things I hate about every episode. It’s one of my more committed trolls, and it worked a little too well. He snapped around season 5, and stopped taking to me for a week.

Ding ding ding.
I'll say it again, it's actually one of my favorite, and I think most genuine Office moments, not the jumping the shark moment.

i actually agree with this to a degree.
Office's highers are high, but it's lowers are low. It's infinitely more rewatchable, but there's a certain charm to P&R that Office doesn't have. maybe because i come away liking almost everybody on Parks and Rec. nobody's really a douche at the end. Everybody is fairly hatable at the end of the office as much as i do love that show.

Blasphemy. Erin is a great character, and weirdly hot.
Oh I’m not saying she’s a bad character, it’s just that her arrival on the show is a good marking point of when the whole thing started to go downhill.

Andy getting manager is probably more my point where there starts to be a decline.

My theory is it happened when Pam went to sales. Pam's role on the show was trying to reign in Michael, and it was a big part of her character. When that role was taken away and they went in a different direction, it changed her character for the worse and adversely affected the quality of the show.

I think that’s why I like The Office better. Parks basically ended like a Hallmark movie

I was legit furious at the season 7 or 8 premier when the revealed Andy was the new manager.
