Was “I Am Legend” Will Smith’s best acting job?

I say yes. He showed some serious emotional range and basically had to pull a Tom Hanks in Castaway and interact with a dog and mannequins.

I honesty thought after this movie he’d be an Oscar contender for a long time. Not sure why he fell off.

Name me a better role he’s acted. I don’t mean a better movie, but just his acting.

I know he was nominated for an Oacar for Ali, but no one even talks about that role.

His scene with the dog and with the mannequin toward the end are better than that scene in Fresh Prince.

So is it disqualified? It's a better performance in a better roll in a better movie. People don't talk about it because people like mediocre movies, such as I am Legend.

Smith is the best part of Legend, though

This is also a very solid movie for those that haven't seen.

A great dialogue driven and philosophy based film prior to the mass internet. Strong roots in Milan Kundera's The Unbearable Lightness of Being.

I thought he was really good. I don’t blame him for the disappointing ending.

I liked him a lot in Pursuit of Happyness.

Looking at his IMDb it’s hard to believe his only recent successes have been MiB3 and Bright.

I don’t think it’s debatable that Hitch was his greatest acting performance of all time, if not THE greatest acting performance of all time.

If they didnt F-up the ending from the book, along with the girls storyline in the book, It would have been a much better picture.

I always say this, but the best part of the movie is when he uses the Almanac for sunrise and sunset timings for each day.

Honestly, I am Legend along with Pursuit of Happiness and Ali are my three favorite Will Smith films without a doubt.

I think what I just realized is that besides Fresh Prince, I may simply not be a fan of his comedic work. When he does serious movies, he tends to do pretty well.
