Was Darth Vader a Clone? Crazy Theories to save Star Wars

My son and I were having one of those goofy "What if" discussions about fixing Star Wars and we came up with a crazy idea that actually sounded better the more we talked about it.
We know from the animated shows Palpatine was into Cloning. "What If" Palpatine surreptitiously had Anakin duplicated and the one that we saw turned to the dark side and became Vader was actually a clone and Anakin is somewhere frozen in carbonite to be found at some point in the current time to save the galaxy as the great Jedi he was during Clone Wars?

Strongly disagree. If you watched Clone Wars Anakin was awesome. The whole Jedi bullshite dogma of attachments was what screwed Anakin up. If he was allowed to openly have his marriage to Padme Palpatine would have never been able to latch on to him.
Luke's attachment to his father and Akankins attachment to Luke is what ultimately brought Sidious down.

it takes more than just taking out bad guys to be a good Jedi.
Anakin was always too emotional, even in the Clone Wars series.
There is also the whole Jedi thing about finding peace with death, and Anakin could not accept Padme's potential death. (this also goes against the whole attachments thing you already mentioned)

Are you suggesting that Palpatine secretly cloned Anakin while he was still a child? Or cloned Anakin as an adult after Kenobi left him burnt to a crisp?
If cloned as a child, then if real Anakin was frozen in carbonite, then that would've meant that the Jedi trained the cloned version and real Anakin never received training in the force. So he wouldn't be a Jedi or a skilled warrior. He'd probably kick arse in pod races, but not so much in light saber battles.
If cloned as an adult, then you have even more holes in the theory. Clones have accelerated aging, but they aren't immediately cloned as the same age as the source they were cloned from. It'd take roughly a decade for a clone to reach adulthood, but there's no such gaps in the timeline where Vader isn't around hunting surviving Jedi or terrorizing the galaxy in between Revenge of the Sith and the original trilogy. And a clone wouldn't be disfigured from the burns Anakin got from his battle with Obi Wan. So he wouldn't need the suit to survive, or the bacta tank, or have a scarred face when he removes his mask after he saves Luke from Palpatine in ROTJ.
Not to mention it flies in the face of Vader's whole redemption arc.

The Jedi Council had their heads too far up their butts which allowed Palpatine to start influencing matters right under their noses.
You can make an argument the Council is to blame for their downfall, including letting down Anakin. Qui Gon was right all along.

I think we can all admit that it's not Palpatine nor the Jedi Council's fault.
The only person we can find fault in is Padme. She intentionally seduced a minor and groomed him to be her royal boink toy. If any one should be blamed for his turn to the dark side, it's her.

Arguing Anakin went to the dark side because the Jedi wouldn’t let him marry is like arguing Priest diddle kids because they can’t marry.
The red flags were there since Anakin was way too young to date Padme.
Also, the other option was for Anakin to leave the order and marry Padme and just be idk I guess Prince Consort of Naboo?
