Id love to see more flashbacks in future episodes that tell the story of the immediate aftermath of the outbreak.

Was thinking the same thing earlier

I just assumed that was Shane's mind going zombieish, since it occured so quickly after he died--the urge to tear flesh and "feed" overcoming him as he succumbed to death and his brain turned. Or was there more to it than that?

That's what I got out of it...his transformation being shown that way.

And as someone asked...how'd Shane die in the comic?

Before getting into the heavy shite (gotta digest it all a bit), interesting that there were two shout outs:

- first, one was when Lori said something about "dinner bell" - one of the formums I visit calls the group "Camp Dinner Bell". (thought for a second it might have been this one but if I remember right it might have been TWOP).

- the second one I better not say on here given all the fighting about comic book spoilers (even though I haven't read the books but have seen things about them) but I think a lot of people probably noticed it.)

I guess it is okay to say now that it has happened on the show.

In the comic Shane was killed way, way before this. It was before the found the farm. He and Rick fight like tonight, but Carl pulls the trigger.

Rick then comes back later and digs Shane up b/c he's turned to a zombie...Rick puts him down.

I really hope this is the catalyst for them to leave the farm. You'll never anticipate the awesomeness of what could be next if they do it right.

Agreed. I thought TV shane death was better than the comic. IMO FWIW

not gonna happen, thats why darabont was fired/quit. He wanted to do flashback episode to fill in gaps and the director/producers didn't.

If I had to guess, that was a financial decision. A flashback episode would have been very expensive to shoot given the nature of the story it would tell. AMC has been trying to cut corners on every show they have since they signed a big deal with one of them (Mad Men, maybe).

Yep, but no way they can get out ahead of that zombie horde on the way.

Amazing that they just happened to be boarding up the day of this attack...

The camera view through the boards as TDog walked away from the window, along with him being the token black and the zombie horde approaching, is strangely reminiscent of the original "Night of the Living Dead". The house is similar too.

that actress was so cool in Prison Break, makes me hate lori even more

I'm a few episodes into season 4 and she's being a dumb worthless over-emotional count there too presently. at least she was good initially.

And I didn't read through all 11 pages, but that "Mad Men" preview with the "Walking Dead" references was awesome! Can't find it online yet.

I don't think the CDC guy told rick that much. Telling him something like you turn once you die now would be pretty vital information you'd share with the group and not keep to yourself

Shot by Carl.. then Rick buries him and he comes back as a walker and Rick kills walker Shane.

Yep. That's the one.

Interestingly, I had my close captioning on and when one of the characters called him that it was typed as T-Dog and I thought to myself "that should have been T-Dawg.
