Easily one of my favorite movies.

I'm also glad QT didn't direct it. I think it would have been fine but Tony Scott nailed the 90s feel.

Great movie.

I loved Gandolfini in it though.

That scene almost gave the movie an X-rating.

The MPAA said she was too primal.

That fight scene was brutal, I can't imagine what they cut out.

Primal is an excellent word to describe it.

Every time I saw Tony Soprano physically intimidate someone I would get this little voice that said "bitch you got kilt by a five foot tall little girl".

My wife and I usually watch a movie together on Sunday mornings. After this thread yesterday I told her I want to watch True Romance this week, without missing a beat she said "Okey dokey doggy daddy".

Lee : [on the phone] Who the frick is Dick?

Elliot : [Mishearing him] Huh? You want me to suck his dick?

I remember now.

What the MPAA objected to was when she shakes the shotgun over her head after shooting him and screams to the heavens

They said that she was animalistic.

Blowtorching his face and actually shooting him with the gun are fine.

....But screaming while hold the gun up above her head is too much.

I agree. Plus his cameo would have been forced and annoying.

True Romance is one of my favorites.

The first time I watched the "you're an eggplant" scene was utterly fantastic not knowing what was happening until I figured out what was about to happen.

The Sicilian scene is way overrated by ignorant rednecks who like cheap vicarious thrills.

That's when he's getting a Big Kahuna Burger.

Which of course shows up in Pulp Fiction and where Mr. Blonde goes to in Reservoir dogs.

Also in From Dusk till Dawn, George Clooney brings back Big Kahuna burgers to QT at the Motel when he kills the hostage before they cross over to Mexico.

If QT opened a chain of big kahuna burgers, a Jack rabbit slims and created red apple cigarettes he’d make a damn fortune.

His product placement from his "world" is fantastic. Actors are disappointed when someone else in the cast gets one of those scenes.

Fat Sal's (a famous sandwich joint in Hollywood) turned their joint into that for a few nights a year ago.

College-age daughter wanted a "Big Kahuna Burger" T-shirt, so I got that upper left logo off of the internet, then on the computer I cleaned it up, blew it up and printed an iron-on of it and put it on a t-shirt for her. All of her friends loved it and wanted one, but she said no, she got the only one.

Well that was something. Watched it for the first time last night. It was the last unwatched work from Tarantino for me. I could definitely see his fingerprints all over it and see how kind of raw it was compared to his stuff today. I enjoyed it but I can see how it would have flopped in the early 90s before he learned to trim the edges on his writing.
It's terrible and still makes me embarrassed for Tony Scott, RIP.
