lol. Casino Royale > Skyfall

Like I said, CR is my preferred film, but that doesn't make it the best action film which is the direct comparison to the MI films. In terms of action films, Skyfall has some great set pieces, sound design, fight sequences, all the stuff you look for in a good action film. CR is the better spy film by far.

I believe because Bond's popularity at the time was driven by Roger Moore and his terrible Bond fans. (I like Moore, but outside of 1-2 of his Bond films, the rest are abysmal). So the general cultural appeal was around Bond as goofy spy guy that says one liners, is 30 years older than the women he sleeps with, and has awful stunt doubles. People loved that stuff.

I would say that you are correct on that. Roger Moore was the face of Bond for about 15 years and then you get Dalton. Dalton was actually a solid Bond with a turd movie and a solid movie.

In terms of Bond, I would put Connery first, Craig due to how good CR is and then Brosnan for Goldeneye. Dalton is solid and close in line with Moore for that fourth spot.

MI movies are the spy equivalent of Transformers. Craig is the best Bond since Connery and the change of tone was much needed to reboot the franchise.

Skyfall is the nuts with Casino Royale as a close second.

Absolutely.

I love these movies.

Bond movies are so in love with the bond image of attire and high life that they are just boring. The chase scene in CR was great, but that's it.

And I fricking hate the whole Bond song shite.

This is one of my favorite scenes in Bond films.

I will say though that the last 2 Mission Impossible movies are really fun and really, really rewatchable.

They should both stop being made. The movie industry and sporting events are the only profession where a lack of innovativeness and laziness are rewarded. Same goes for Star Wars, Fast and the Furious and any other series going more than 7.

In Spectre, Blofeld says that he’s behind Silva... how and why? Silva was a mad dog and an attention whore who was only after M. He seems to have felt bad for Bond if anything.

If anything Blofeld would have had him killed after blowing up Mi6 since it only brings attention to him. Seriously, after Mi6 blew up, what if they found the communication lines going back to Blofeld? It makes no sense how Silva and Blofeld are connected.

For the life of me, I’ll never understand why they tried to shoehorn all of the Craig movies into that plot point. They battled for years to get the rights back for Blofeld & SPECTRE and they use it for that shite. Just make SPECTRE the menace behind the scenes going forward that we learn a little more about in each movie.

Casino Royale is arguably the best Bond movie of all time but it’s awful how the producers were slaves to trying to tie everything into that storyline. Don’t even get me started on how the made Blofeld & Bond brothers. Mind boggling.

I’ve said it before that they’ve really painted the franchise into a corner by trying to create all of these subplots. Really wish SPECTRE was Craig’s last movie and they could just reboot.

that's funny, because the awfulness that was Spectre has put the franchise in a more untenable position than Die Another Day ever did
