Although I loved it, I felt as though there was something missing in the movie. The dialogue and the main characters were great, but I guess the lack of a really interesting plot might have something to do with it.

Also the movie felt slightly rushed -- the editing didn't seem perfect, and the soundtrack was awkward at times.

That said, I still give it an A- or B+ at worst.

I thought it was excellent. Great dialogue, pacing was fine with me. Heavy and humorous.

Good film.

Yea, I saw it last night and it was a pretty solid movie. The first 20 minutes were a bit slow but the great cinematography and Cogburn made up for that

I can see a lot of people being disappointed in it. The previews make it seem like there is more action than there really is. And I would assume many people are looking for No Country For Old Men 2 but it isn't.

Just got home from seeing it with my Dad. I've never seen the original so I can't make any comparisons there. Steinfeld and Bridges were money, their dialogue(and Damon's) really drove the movie IMO. I was expecting more action, but I wasn't disappointed in the film at all. I'd give it a 7/10.

I can't believe people think it was just 'ok'. I thought it was everything a Western should be. I don't know why people were expecting so much action, it's not like you were going to see Die Hard. It was an interesting but realistic, believable story with great actors. I didn't want it to end.

Saw it today. Really enjoyed it. The dialogue was amazing. Up there with the Coen's best. And I could not stop laughing when Bridges knocked over the little native american kids.

I saw it tonight, I did not expect to laugh that much. Bridges character was great and Matt Damon well I wasn't sure what to make of him.

I just got back from it so it's fresh in my mind. I thought the dialouge, humor, actors, and characters was awesome. I agree with the other poster who said they would like to see the bad guys more. Pepper and Brolin are too good of actors for such little screen time. I would have also like to have seen more action. I dispise Matt Damon movies and I thought he was great as the cocky Texan. Bridges and the girl were fantastic. I did not see the original but I would greatly recommend this one. I'm glad they didn't do ridiculous stunts or unbelievable explosions. It was real and simple. I loved it.

I guess I'm the only one who thought the girl was annoying as hell and didn't think her performance was that great. I know her role is supposed to be like that, but I just wasn't as impressed as everyone else in this thread seems to be.

The climax scene was really underwhelming compared to the John Wayne version.

Yeah that was awesome.....Also when those three guys were about to be hanged, the let the two white guys say a couple of last words but put the bag over the Native American guys head as soon as he started talking

Did you notice the mention of Kirby Smith?

The dialogue and one liners were great.

She'll be nominated for an Oscar and could very well end up being the youngest winner since Anna Paquin

I never saw the original, but I absolutely loved this movie. I was interested from start to finish. I thought the scene with Bridges carrying her at the end was amazing.

Unlike others, I had no problem with the climax/short showing of the bad guys. I think that was sort of the point. It didn't really matter if Chaney was a mass murderer or upstanding citizen minus the murder of her father. She didn't give a shite. She wanted him dead for that one thing and she got her retribution (for a price).
