Just got back from the midnight showing. It was good, not great. I thought it could have used more action. Bridges was excellent, as expected.

Going to midnight showing with my brothers Christmas night. Even though you said it was not great, I'm still pumped.

Think bong rips before going would make it better?

I just got out of the movie and while I have to say it isn't the Coen's most outstanding work, I loved it. A lot of typical Coen Brothers humor throughout. The cinematography is gorgeous. Hailee Steinfeld owns this movie, and dare I say outshines Jeff Bridges.

I just got out too. I am typically not a fan of westerns but I loved it! I agree the cinematography was amazing. I thought it was very exciting. Good film!

Saw it yesterday and loved it.
Last night I caught the end of the original on TCM, and it did not hold up well. Hailey Stanfield was great as was Bridges. Damon's character was weird but he did a good job.

Saw it yesterday and loved it. Bridges and Steinfeld are amazing. Damon is okay but the dialogue between him and Bridges is what drives the film. Only complaint is I wish Brolin would have been in the movie longer.

Saw it. Loved it. Thought all the actors were fantastic in their role, even Brolin and Barry Pepper.

Yea, Pepper was awesome and they should have bumped up Brolin's part a bit.

Saw it last night. My only complaint was that it ended too soon.

Jeff Bridges and Hailee Steinfeld owned their roles.

Good movie. Better than the original. I grew up near Fort Smith and I remember watching the original (which I loved) thinking it was stupid how they were traveling through the Rockies.

As an aside, you can go to Judge Parker's courthouse. In Jr. High we visited the gallows there. All the places, Winding Stair Mountain, etc are real places, just across the Oklahoma/Arkansas border. Most of the sets were in Texas and New Mexico but looked a lot like that area does or did back in the 1800s.

The best thing about the movie was the dialogue and accents. Bridges is incredible. Not a lot of violence, but the violence thats in there is brutal and believable.

I don't care much for Matt Damon but even he was pretty good as a cocky Texican.

Saw it. I never saw the original but the the climax for this movie kind of fricking disappointed me. I got to tell you. It would have been okay had Brolins character had been more menacing and featured. T

he guy seemed like some half wit idiot/hustler. Just not impressed. There was no depth given to him. Nothing that indicated he was a true murderer.

Loved Bridges. The girl's part was annoying but she played the part very well. I thought Damon's character was awkward more than anything. Like a naive Texas Ranger. Didn't make sense to me.
