Any chance Rebecca gets taken by Hoyt?

Looks like he solved the case already and was supposed to stay quiet. With his dementia, he forgot that he was supposed to stay quiet and is going to "re-solve" it. He's going to be in for a rude awakening and Rowland is going to be really upset he kept this a secret this whole time.

I’m guessing Hoyt proves to Wayne he knows they killed Harris and makes him a deal. Quit the force, stop your wife’s second book, and move on. Else, I’m going public with the evidence that you killed Harris.
Interesting takes on reddit

Holy shite that was intense!
Who do you think is the mysterious driver?
I loved season one, really liked season two, but this? This is on a whole other level. Simply amazing.

This was one of the best episodes of the entire series. I hope they knock the finale next week outta the frickin park.

This ending is setting up better, but episodes 1-6 of season 1 was arguably the greatest run of episodes in television history.

So I take it Nebraska will be the setting for Season 4
Probably not. The Nebraska pedo-ring is not fiction.

solved the case already
What does solving the case mean?
Clearly we know both he and Roland and likely Amelia knew in 1990 that Harris james killed Lucy and likely Dan obrien and Tom. They knew James worked for hoyt. Amelia and Wayne knew hoyt wanted the investigation squashed because of his meeting with Wayne at the end of this episode. Hays put his family first and decided to walk away so his wife and kids would be safe.
He by no means had the case completely solved although i guess it is possible that Amelia had more clues somehow and left breadcrumbs in her book.
They never found Julie and they didn't have the info on hoyts daughter and her problems.
I don't see anyway he already had solved all of everything in 90 and simply forgot. Doesn't cut arse.

Agree. I think people saying this season is better are forgetting how great season 1 really was and are just remembering the underwhelming ending
But this is still is very good season

It seems pretty obvious Hoyt tells Hayes the truth after insuring his silence by threatening his family. Hayes learns what happened but walks away to protect his wife and kids. The “twist” will be that Hayes has forgotten and is solving it again, only now others find out as well. The interest is in how it plays out, notbwhat actuslly happened.
I really don’t understand how anyone can think anything else at this point. This season is great but it’s not subtle. They’ve been slapping you across the face with the Hoyt abduction and Hayes forgetting what he once knew about the case since about episode 3.

This season may end up better than season 1.

In the season finale preview it shows Hays on a college campus likely where he dropped off his daughter. Im curious to see if there are Hoyt connections with both his daughter and wife.

Hoyt wouldn't have to tell Wayne the whole story to get him to walk away from the case. All he would have to do is threaten his family and to reveal his murder of Harris james. Hays knows how much power hoyt has. He isn't in a position to bargain.

Did Roland and Hayes actually see the black car and get a plate #? Or was that just his imagination again?

Yes, they did.

It was hard to tell since it immediately goes to the scene of him in the street alone in the dark.

i bet the creepy hoarder lady sets Amelia up. She makes sure she "comes back tomorrow" with the picture of the ghosts.
