[quote]Also, the landscaper at the halfway house was Ardoin landscaping. That's the name of the boy that was trick-or-treating with the kids. I think they were showing us that for a reason.[quote]

When I saw the guy walking out of the truck I thought the same thing. Season 1 taught me to not trust the landscapers (see attached)

Also, what's the deal with HBO shows making pig/chicken operations out to be a bunch of centers for pedo ring/kid freaks? similar story in Sharp Objects.

It's finding Julie. That's always been what Wayne needed to put this case to bed. He wants to hear her version of the events and probably let her know her father loved her and that some of the men responsible paid for what they did.

That makes sense.

Maybe this has been suggested but the uncle (cousin) isn't going to turn out to be the dad of the kids is he?

What do you mean there's no blood relation? He's Lucy's cousin, so we've been told. That makes them related.

However, this thought did cross my mind a bit when they were talking to him in the diner. Mentioned how she came to live with them (he and his parents) when they were young. Then followed that up with something along the lines of "we reached various life milestones together." There's chance Dan and Lucy were banging.

what if the case is already solved and they killed everyone who got off. Hunted them down so to speak, and now Hays is on one last hunt...Roland

Oh wait- for some reason I was thinking when he said that she came to live with them after her mom died that they weren't actually related, he just meant that she wasn't his sister but his cousin. Duh.

Gonna update that post of mine.

I was wondering when they would get to the peep hole. I thought for sure the uncle was creeping on her. Using that for passing notes was well done.

Yes. I think someone here called that.

I haven't read through all the posts here yet, but did anyone else get pissed when they were about to interrogate Tom, and the major & DA were all "let's pin this on the dad and move on"?

I originally thought that Hayes' daughter died young and he doesn't remember, but looking on imdb... an actress named Deborah Ayorinde plays the older Becca in the last 3 episodes. Young Becca Hayes is listed for the 1st 5 episodes and the older Becca Hayes is listed for the last 3 episodes, but I don't remember seeing her on last night's episode.

update- it shows her playing older Becca in the last 2 episodes so we haven't seen the adult Becca yet.

It was the scene when she was sick and looked like she was 6 or 8 years old.

If they'd already solved it Roland would have told them in their reunion in 2015. I think they definitely have an idea but never took it all the way through to what truly happened.

Or Hayes solved it without Roland

Or Roland knows telling him wont help.

I don't think they fully solved anything. They got close but never found Julie although it's possible maybe Amelia did? I don't think they know exactly what happened to will. Only a handful of people still alive in 2015 probably where there when it went down... The hoyt daughter, the one eyed man and Julie herself.

I found the portion last night when Hayes left Roland in his study and had a memory lapse before he came back in, he greeted Roland like he thought he had just arrived in his study, to be troubling. Must be really tough to lose the ability to remember.

Dorff played that off real well. There was understanding in his voice when he noticed Hays seemed surprised to see him. When you see the son interact with the father in a kind of annoyed, "i hate to have to be having this conversation with you" tone, you can assume it probably started off the way Dorff was in that scene.

Great episode...

question tho... so why is the big metal door open to the pink room at the Hoyt's? How can Tom find it so fast? IS he led there?

I’m holding out hope that the ending will be some kind of twist. I don’t want it to be the predicted outcome that most predicted 3 episodes ago.

there’s really nothing to solve in 2015 just the lady is doing the documentary or whatever and Wayne simply doesn’t remember?

I think she’s trying to pin the disappearance of Harris or OBrien on Roland and Hayes.
