I for one am glad they went the route they did and left out unnecessary and ridiculous twists

Yeah, the shock or twist ending can get old. I was worried they were gonna roll credits as they were laying on the ground. I'm glad it was conclusive.

At the end did Rust say "The Light was when?"

He was talking to Marty about how when it all started there was nothing but darkness (after Marty's "darkness has more territory" comment). And now there's plenty of "light". I think at that point he said "light's winning".

He says "First there was darkness. It seems to me that the light is winning"

Yes. Filmed at Fort St, Philip, and it was the perfect setting

Amazing.

They should have ended episode right when marty and Rust are laying on the ground and the cops are coming.

I agree with Khaleesi.

NOW, 4 weeks to decompress and get our shite in order. It may be getting warm outside, but Winter is Coming, mf'ers.

I'm tired of those type endings. I was worried they would end that way.

I'd have been pissed if we got a "did they die?" cliffhanger. Especially knowing both won't be back for next season and there'll be a new deal.

I'll take the warm and fuzzies.

Yeah Light's winning makes sense.

End of tthe day, that was a story of friendship, I think. The ups and downs, the betrayals, the loayalty, the problems and reconciliations.

Awesome 8 hours.

So true detective ends as a buddy cop movie with a bunch of cliches? Too good through 7 hrs not to disappoint in the finale.

Nice warm and fuzzies. Especially after that particularly dark setting and episode.
