I don't think Field of Dreams is a Top 5 sports movie...objectively.

I think it's overly melodramatic and overly sentimental.

But yes...it works. So maybe I am wrong. Maybe it is the best of all-time because it works.

I don't think there has been a better ending to a film in movie history for Fathers and sons.

If you had a Dad you loved...or even maybe had issues or didn't totally love - and had problems with...it still works...

It's the ending so many wish they could have...so many die without reconciliation or letting them know how much they mattered.

And baseball is beautiful.

And having a catch with your Dad is an American gem.

it is.

While i'd rather throw a football, shoot a basketball, kick a soccerball, or hit a golf ball with them, playing pitch and catch with your son is just the bees knees.

May not be sports but The Color of Money and Kingpin deserve a mention.

Sounds like you started with a position and may have argued your way out of it.

SlapShot is the funniest sports movie of all-time.

And it damn-near might be the best sports movie of all-time too.

I could watch it over and over and over.

You go to the box. Two minutes. You feel shame. And then you go free.

shite, good call on that one. That was a really well made, amazing movie.

And for the person who asked me about Mighty Ducks, it falls in line with my golf movies. Top 20 but not top 10.

If I continued my list, 11-20 would be littered with at least 3 or 4 golf movies. Greatest Game Ever Played, Gilmore, Tin Cup and Caddyshack. Mighty Ducks would fall in the 13 to 16 range Bagger Vance might crack the top 20.
