Good ones listed already.

Pale Rider is another good Eastwood movie.

Lonesome Dove if you want to tackle a miniseries.

Agreed that “Godless” was a very well done mini series and definitely worth a watch. Jeff Daniels did an excellent job with his role.

The Assassination of Jesse James

Criminally underrated movie. Maybe my favorite western of all time.

Unforgiven>>>>> tombstone.

Tombstone is a fun movie, but unforgiven is a well deserving best picture recipient.

Morgan Freeman or Val Kilmer ? Gene Hackman or Michael Biehn ?

Haven’t watch Unforgiven yet either. Plan on watching it soon. But, Biehn, and especially Kilmer, were fricking incredible in Tombstone.

Tombstone is basically a Marvel movie. Its a fun, entertaining watch but not some all time great. Unforgiven is more in line with something like The Godfather quality wise.

My parents love old westerns. Every Christmas we watch them almost non-stop.

All the good new ones are listed already. My favorite newish western is open range.

Conagher is one of the best westerns ever. My #1 favorite. If you have not
watched it, you should do so.

I’d throw Wyatt Earp (with Kevin Costner) in the mix as well. It’s like Tombstone but shows more of his life.

Agree 100%

It’s beautifully shot, acted, and the music is incredible.
