The end of Toy Story 3 is the closest Ive come to ever crying in a movie. And there really isnt a close second. It came out the summer before I went to college. I told my mother she couldnt watch it for a minimum of 4 years

The end of Toy Story 3 gets me every time. And Up...the beginning is truly perfection. I pretty well cry throughout that entire movie.

Up is such an unreal movie. The first 7 minutes you're balling like you've known these characters for your whole life, just incredible filmwork.

The opening to Up is probably the only part of a movie to ever make me - as a grown man - weep like a four year old at the end of Homeward Bound.

I mean... how fricking sad is that shite? And I'm fixing to get married this summer... frick, I'm ending it if I have to deal with Mrs. Durden going out like that one day.

I still say that the opening to Up is a lot more sweet than sad. Sure, some of it is sad (like the no kids part), but he got to spend his life with the one person he loved, and even though they never were able to go on that one specific adventure, he ended up seeing that she had filled her book with all of their good times...and that their life together was the adventure.

I understand why people cry because of it, but I've always thought it was extraordinarily sweet.

Fantastic opening montage. And I agree it's one of the best love stories told in film, and all without words and in about 8 minutes.

I just watched that clip in the link. I don't think I want to watch Up.

You should. It is, by far, my favorite Pixar movie.

I was moving to China for a few years, and my family and I went to see it the day before I left. I avoided reviews at all costs, just seeing that the tomatometer was at 99%, which meant it was basically a masterpiece. My mom tore down during it.

My all time favorite Pixar film is Nemo, but nothing tops the pure pathos of the opening of Up. Do yourself a favor and see it when you can

Haven't seen those. Gotta see, but I don't want my list of unmanly moments to extend further.

The incinerator scene in Toy Story 3 was sadder than the ending to me. When they all stopped fighting and held hands and just decided to die together, I lost it.

I can't say either one was more sad than the other. I teared up big time during both of those scenes. I think the first one gets you as an adult because at one point you have to face the fact that it is your time.

The ending scene gets you because as a parent of young children you know that time is coming faster than you want it to.

Dang it..
