This. I legitimately thought they were dead, so at the ending i was happy for them like a rescue dog getting a good home. I hadn't seen 1 or 2 in years (even though i grew up with them) so when i saw the opening of Toy Story 3 i had a huge " holy shite the gang is back" feeling .
.
That Up intro so perfect

they should just throw in the end of brain's song so we are crying like 4th grade girls.

Also the Incenerator scene is what got me in TS3, the end was great IMO, eventually he was going to have to move on and they found a great home, at least they aren't up in an attic somewhere...
Also, Pixar really likes to hit you hard right at the beginning of movies

Just noticed, when i watched your link, that Woody is the link to connect the "original" toys and the "new" toys. Some deep symbolism there. Pixar is the shiznit.

The opening of UP is masterful. Pure genius.

I just watched that clip in the link. I don't think I want to watch Up.

That's definitely sadder than the ending. Pizza Planet Aliens FTW
I can't find it but some dude played a prank on his mom and he altered the DVD to end right before the aliens save them and taped her reaction. Its hilarious.

Jesse's sad song in Toy Story 2 is pretty depressing, too.

The UP scene is awesome.
TS3 ending gets me because I have two boys that are about the same age as Andy in TS1 and TS2. My youngest has to have his horse, zebra and giraffe stuffed animals before he goes to bed. I know one day soon he will outgrow them and they will be put away until he is old enough to be on his own. That is the whole part that gets me.

Mine would be the opening up Up
, the flashbacks Jessie has in TS 2, and when I thought they were all going to die in TS 3
.
