I do not dislike this aspect. I am an English major and an English teacher. I love this genre. I just thought that the movie was just bad. I didn't think the acting was any better than "The Happening." That is just my opinion. Both movies were terrible.

Either way, he is not a hack as you agree. He has made some good movies. He has made some interesting movies that did not work, but he is not a hack.

TigerMyth36,as an English teacher, I would recommend that you work on your reading comprehension.

VOR, I wouldn't say he is a hack.

This is what I said.

Not sure you understand what I was trying to say.

"He is not a hack as you agree." Maybe missed a comma, but I meant that you agree he is not a hack.

A properly placed comma can change the meaning. If that is what you meant to say, than you are right. If you are trying to cover up for a mistake, I laugh at you!

J/K...

I was never arguing with you about him being a hack. You said you agreed with just about everything I said. I was just arguing with you about the Happening which is one of the worst, if not the worst movie I have ever seen that was directed by a competent director.

Wait, no, the worst movie directed by a competent director goes to Spielberg for Crystal Skull.

3. Primal Fear...Ed Norton's best performance.

Should have won the Oscar for this role over Cuba Gooding.

One interesting movie with a great twist is House of Games, starring Joe Montagna and Lindsay Crouse. It is a great scam within a scam within a scam movie.

I think the ending of "To Live and Die in L.A." was extremely unanticipated.

Great action flick too...with William Peterson (CSI) and Willem Dafoe and directed by William Friedkin (The French Connection). Music by Wang Chung really adds a lot. Check it out!

How has anyone not mentioned Unbreakable yet. I thought of all the Shamylan (sp?] movies that was the least expected.

I love unbreakable, although many on the board here hated it.

I like Unbreakable. I thought the concept was pretty good and I didn't see that twist coming.

But he's been missing "it" since then.

Can someone explain the end of Departed to me (if there is anything to explain) Is the reason its on here is because its an unexpected killing or was the more meaning behind it?

Just the abrupt way a certain character went out. Not really a twist, although it was similar to To Live and Die in LA.
