Master and Commander is a great movie, they did a great job. Almost criminal it never got a sequel.

5. Come and See (1985)

I mean great movie but it's well-known as a Russian propaganda middle finger picture to Germany.... So it's disingenuous to slap a "most accurate" label on it.

The ambush scene in Forest Gump is more accurate than any of the ones listed here.

I would love a sequel, but I don’t know if they made wooden ships that could hold Crowe at his current weight.

I've only ever seen this theory on reddit, and I do not understand it. There is no pro-soviet message in the film (or even a pro-Belorussian one). It's two and a half hours of relentless horrors of war that makes no attempt to have a clean narrative resolution for the protagonist. Propaganda films are designed to have clear narratives that convey clear messages.

It's also known that the Soviet government fought and delayed the production of Come and See for almost a decade, because of its depiction of war. Governments don't usually fight so hard to silence their own propaganda.

They would've probably made a shite sequel so it's better alone.

I laughed but also cannot hate on the guy. He's the Ed Orgeron of Hollywood. Made his bag got his natty and is living his best life traveling the world with his mediocre band and a hot 30 year old blonde.
