To be honest, I'm not sure how I feel that there is even a movie genre call "action films". Seems like action can be a valuable part of a movie but action for action's sake doesn't usually pique my interest.

For example I love Independence Day but I don't really consider it an action film. It is part sci fi, part comedy, even part romance and yes, part action.

For what I consider as "pure" action films - things with one or more of the recent Stalone, Ahnald, Van Damme, Segall, etc.- I don't usually watch unless I hear something really good about one of them.

I saw the list and scrolled through it thinking "if T2 isn't on it, he loses all credibility" Well listed.

The term "Action Movie" can be broadly applied. Is Jurassic Park not an action movie? What about Saving Private Ryan? Or Braveheart? Those all fall into the action and adventure genre.

Got better reviews than more than a few movies I placed on this list. It is holding steady at 83% on Rotten Tomatoes.

I probably should have included The Professional. Still holds up great on rewatching

I disagree completely. Didn't like it then; don't like it now. I re-watched it recently to give it a second chance, and. . . it's just not good. IMO
