However unintentional, this is the pep talk Bruce Wayne's Batman needed. One of the best.

RIP to a Legend

He was one of those actors that, when he showed up in a movie, I thought 'Oh, this is going to be good'.

Can't believe Batman Begins is 21 years old.

Agree. Coincidentally I'm doing a Batman re-watch with my son while home from school & also going thru TW's catalog. My son hasn't seen & suggested Michael Clayton. That scene in BM has piqued his interest in Tom Wilkinson.

He was great in "In the Bedroom " with Sissy Spacek and Marisa Tomei.

Batman Begins was such a great movie. The quality of it completely surprised me back in 2005 and the quality of the cast is elite:

Christian Bale - Oscar winner
Michael Caine - Oscar winner
Gary Oldman - Oscar winner
Morgan Freeman - Oscar winner
Cillian Murphy - Oscar winner
Liam Neeson - Oscar nominee
Tom Wilkinson - Oscar nominee
Ken Watanabe - Oscar nominee

It might be the best origin story film for a comic book character ever made.

The first thing I remember seeing him in was The Full Monty. He was great and I have enjoyed noticing him in numerous films since

Thanks for the scene you posted

His opening monologue gets me every time. Perfect intro to the rest of the movie. I went in blind to the movie but knew I was in for a treat where the opening was all you really needed to see to know what to expect.

Agree. I've come to appreciate Cillian Murphy's portrayal much more too.

I legit saw the thread title and knew it was gonna be this exact scene. That whole monologue instantly stuck with me as a kid. He will always be Carmine Falcone. I was shocked when I found out he was British.

Perfect description. Another favorite performance from him is what I think is an underrated The Exorcism of Emily Rose

Yeah I thought it was going to be the baguette scene when I read the title

*ETA: when he flips on a dime

quote:

Michael, I have great affection for you and you live a very rich and interesting life, but you're a bag man not an attorney. If your intention was to have me committed you should have kept me in Wisconsin where the arrest report, the videotape, eyewitness reports of my inappropriate behavior would have had jurisdictional relevance. I have no criminal record in the state of New York, and the single determining criterion for involuntary commitment is danger. Is the defendant a danger to himself or to others. You think you got the horses for that? Well good luck and God bless, but I'll tell you this: the last place you want to see me is in court.

So good. I’m shocked at how many people I know have never seen Michael Clayton. I think it just got buried in that 07-08 flood of quality movies.
