The constant shots of the spider in the case was an obvious parallel to Jesse.

I think the spider was a throwback to the kid Todd killed during the train robbery. He was out on his dirt bike and caught it before Todd shoots him. Sick bastard kept it like a trophy.

Just finished it and damn it was enjoyable. Had no idea what to expect going into it.

That duel at the end was badass.

I loved it. Felt like I was watching Breaking Bad again, which says it all.

The duel scene is by far the best in the movie.

Also have to add, Todd is so nonchalant about his psychopathic tendencies that it sometimes comes across as funny. I know I'm sick for saying that feel like they could do a dark comedy about Todd

Well that was damned fantastic. It was really just a 2 hour epilogue, but one that was well worth seeing. Skinny Pete's goodbye was emotional, probably my favorite part.

Seriously, though. I'm sure Todd had some time to drop a couple 20 lbs for the big paycheck. I thought they were going to obscure his face the whole time, like they did in the beginning with the bars on the cage.

I just hope they don't try to spin a 3rd series with Jesse in Alaska. I'm sure something will come along. I really doubt they're done with this property.

Enjoyed it. Thought it was a well deserved ending.

Favorite part was the scenes with the vacuum repair guy.

Gilligan has said recently that he would like his next focus to be on a series about a good guy as the main character. He said that’s a much more challenging topic to write and keep compelling for a series. I guess we will see if he ever gets back to this universe or not. I suppose money will dictate he likely will at some point.

I think he means unnecessary fan service that just gets in the way of the plot

It had nothing to do with the 1800 but everything to do with Jesse breaking protocol. He showed up cold in his shop (not a roadside pickup) and Jesse's picture was all over the news. It is clear money wasn't the issue since he did not try to keep the $125k he was owed already. The 1800 was just an excuse he could use to keep his "code" but avoid doing something he didn't want to do.

Had a friend say today that we were left with the same ending as Breaking Bad. I think that’s a terrible take. Breaking Bad he is screaming and driving off in chaos with no direction. At the end of El Camino he is driving off at peace with a mild smile on his face with a hopeful future. They were not the same but wonderfully parallel.
