I just binged seasons 4 & 5 over the past 24 hrs starting just after Easter dinner and finishing up just an hour before the Season 6 premiere. What a great binge!
Lalo is a great villain addition. Wow. He was so equally charismatic & ruthless, he almost reminded me of Hans Landa/Christoph Waltz. Some moments were downright chilling.
And Jimmy turning into Saul is exactly what I was hoping to see in the first 3 slow-burn seasons. And I love that Kim is breaking bad. I really hope J+K=S in BB. They make a great team.

I think it was Mike following Saul. It was a Mike type car. I think Nacho, or his dad, or both are the first to be vacuumed. If he's going to go against Gus on the issue he may turn to Saul for help.
there is no reason for mike to be following saul instead of just calling him.
if mike were in trouble from gus, tyrus would have just shot him there, plus there's really nothing saul is gonna be able to do to protect mike from gus.
he just persuaded gus to listen to his idea, its the only option. he literally was just telling gus he needed to take some men across the border and track nacho down...that is what mike is going to be doing.
ETA - plus mike has a different license plate on his car than the one tailing jimmy/kim. and the trailer for next episode has howard saying something like ' I need to know everything he does and who he talks to'. all signs point to howard/PI

Solid two episodes. I haven’t watched much cable television in awhile but my god the amount of commercials throughout that was ridiculous. Felt like after every big scene there was a commercial.

I don’t think it was Howard, but it could be.
That was not Howard or Mike, and it wasn't Salamanca, Eladio, Bossa or Fring (or any of their guys).
It was either Law Enforcement or Private investigator. Therefore it was either the DA or Howard. But the trailers for the next show (Kim asking if they are building a case against Saul) indicate it was probably the DA.

There's actually a pretty good reason called Gus. Remember when they told Nacho to take his battery out, remember when they said they had every line tapped that Lalo would call, Remember when Saul would break his cell after every call?
Mike likes to do his business face to face in the desert. It may not be Mike, I could be wrong, but I think you just like to argue with me to get 3 or 4 upvotes. Very sad.

The car was most likely a police tail
A pretty big plot hole IMO is Gus trying to get Nacho killed, if he’s not gonna do it himself he has to know they’ll torture/interrogate him first and probably find out about Gus’ involvement. Just because he thought Lalo was dead when he decided to do that doesn’t really change this, because Gus is fricked regardless of it comes out he tried to have him whacked.

Yeah, I don't get planting the evidence in Nacho's safe for the cartel to find. The best course is to kill Nacho themselves or send him to the Vaccuum man.

In the scene where Kim askes someone "are you building some kind of case against Jimmy" there is a file open in front of her. It's a file on Jimmy. She must be talking to the DA.
Them they cut to Jimmy yelling at the back of the ADA "that's a lot of big talk, prove it!".
Legal pressure coming for Jimmy.

After binge-ing the last two seasons in 24 hrs and then going to commercial-laden double episodes was a shock to the system.
Side note: I rewatched the Scene in Breaking Bad where Walt & Jesse in ski-masks took/kidnapped Saul out to the desert and Saul desperately says, "Ignacio did it." and seconds later asks, " Did Lalo send you???"...so (spoiler) both Nacho & Lalo survive at least until whenever Saul interacts with Walt & Jesse.

That was interesting, but there was something way bigger in that preview. They dropped a pretty big bomb in there.

I guess we didn't get our Gene opening scene.
You think they are saving it for the Part 2 of the season?

Vince and Peter are screwing with us. They listed Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul for credits on episode 1 on IMDB.
I read about it about it last week, but didn't say anything. It seemed fishy they would show up in the first episode.
It's clear they're screwing with us.

IDK about plot hole, it could be more like a gus miscalculation and learning moment preparing him to be the gus of BB. I think his plan was for nacho to go "never take me alive" and die in a shootout.
this seems like how gus will build trust in mike and vice versa, by letting mike take the lead and clean up his mess.

it was a gene timeline opening, just without gene and with color.
I think theyll tease more at least for the mid season finale.

That's actually a great take on that scene. At that point he is Gene, but it was in color because they're dealing with Saul.

Not trying to stir up a pissing match, but does anyone want to discuss Kim dressing like Saul and closing the deal with the Kettlemans?

I have a lot more thoughts about that opening scene when I think about what Kim said at the Mexican restaurant.
I'll go into detail later. I need to watch it again.

I'm also kind of tired of Jimmy's continued obsession w/ Howard, long after he knew it was Chuck holding him back and Howard actually liked him
Seems like Saul is not crazy about the idea, but after seeing Kim sulk a bit at dinner he decides to go along. Kim’s pushing it more
