I’m pretty sure it was the original deal. He was to run, but he’d be zip tied and wouldn’t get far before Victor shot and killed him (insurance so the cousins couldn’t capture and torture him). But Nacho didn’t want to give them the satisfaction of killing him—he wanted to write his own ending to his own story, so he did it himself.

(After taking the piece of glass. Not sure if Mike broke out the glasses strictly for this and he and Nacho planned the suicide—as opposed to being killed running away—without Gus knowing or not. Nacho was in the game—there was no way “out” at that point. But Mike respected him enough to let him choose his death. And that’s really all that mattered to Gus, Bolsa, and Hector. If Nacho died, his dad was safe.)

Of course I could have misunderstood upon 1st viewing. But I don’t think anybody was expecting suicide except Mike.

no thats pretty much my same thinking. except mike may not have expected the suicide either. I think he was kinda tearing up at the end.

also just noticed when the rerun came up, the opening of the episode right before the theme song was the rain on a glass shard very similar to the one he used to free himself before meeting his fate.

I mean, it was the exact one, no? Just in the future. Why else show that cold open?

I think that was the glass Gus broke in the first episode.

I came to the same conclusion.

I didn't catch what Mike said after Nacho ended himself however.

Yeah, Mike may not have known. I almost said that he was the only one that could have known, not necessarily that he did. And didn’t he say to himself “do it, kid” when Nacho had the gun to Bolsa’s head? He may have wanted him to kill Bolsa and then get lit up. As it was playing out. Agree he may have still thought it was gonna as they originally planned with Nacho taking off and Victor shooting him as he fled.

Nacho is one of the best characters in this series universe. Went out like an absolute G.

RIP Nacho. In a world full of detestable people, I actually really liked you.

There has to be some reason for that blue flower at the beginning. Anyone know what it is?

My thought is it is native to some specific place in Mexico and seeds got on Nacho’s clothing and their life came from his death…

Yeah, we were right about the original running and Victor killing him. Watching again and Nacho says “puts me down, you mean?” He didn’t like the thought of someone else—especially Victor—putting him down like a dog. He wanted to write his own ending, so he called the audible when he found the glass. Kept his dad alive, made him feel like his death was more “honorable,” and got to piss Hector off real good. He was still shooting him after the credits.

Was just thinking, if Nacho had given up Fring instead of covering for him his dad would have been safe as well as the Twins would not have let any of them leave.

Talking at the meetup when they were all together.

Or am I missing something...

eta-Obviously that would make the story going forward rather difficult with no characters, but just saying.

Don’t think it is but it’s definitely the same one where Mike originally tried to snipe Hector in season 2.

Think he runs the risk of Gus winning the firefight, particularly with Mike on the hill. And the. Gus could take revenge on his father. Right?
